Well, maybe I will luck out with mine. I have no pool plans and they are at least 10 feet out from the house. Thank all of you for the replies.

I had lived in the OKC area a few years ago and many home landscapes had them. They looked spectacular in their hot and dry summers.
They make it through winters up there; a little cold down here won’t faze them.

my neighbors have three that go alongside my pool, they are mature trees that aren't maintained or pruned. Every year for the past 10, they get fungus and drop yellow leaves, worms, and blooms into my pool.
At times the pool equipment gets so over whelmed I've come home to 2 inches of crap on the surface of the water. They've burnt out the pump motor once. The irony is that if I prune any branches on my side of the property line, the fricker grows back stronger than ever on my side.
I pray every year that a tornado or hurricane gets them. Last year Beryl at least stripped most of the blooms and leaves for the season. But alas, I just noticed new leaves this morning. frickers.

My “Natchez” variety is just starting to bud in New Roads, LA.
