Clothes Dryer question (Speed Queen)

My wife’s has a Samsung dryer that the tub felt has already been replaced 3 times.
I’m sick of it. I can replace myself but it over $100 every time so I’m replacing the dryer.
Going with a speed queen but which model? It there only one that I can get if I don’t buy a pair?

Bought a sq set in the spring. Love it. You can buy individual. There are 3 levels. We got the middle level.

Picked up a 2004 super capacity kenmore w/d set (whirlpool) someone put out on the side of the road, bought a $4 set of dog ears which fixed the agitator on the washer and a $5 bottle of touch up white appliance enamel.
That was 5-6 years ago. The only thing that's broken was the little mechanical switch that stops the washer when you lift the lid. Bought the part, never installed it because while I was waiting for it to arrive we decided we liked it better without it.
Tl;dr I have a matching w/d set someone threw away and it can wash and dry the hell out of some clothes.
Napoleon originally told me these units were legendary and boy was he right.
Sometimes simpler is better.
Eta before we moved to our current house I had a Samsung washer front loader and a lifetime of issues. What a terrible design and piece of shite that was.

I was working on a Speed queen the other day and took a picture I wanted to show you. I know you used to like your 1980s Maytag.
To me is amazing how how the inside of a modern Speed Queen looks like a 1980s Maytag.
2019 Speed Queen
1981 Maytag (though this model has the belt driven pump not direct. Though Maytag used that design from 86-98
1994 Amana (look familiar?)
Speed Queen just repackaged old tech in a new machine.

As far as OP a dryer is a dryer. You buy the washer and the dryer to match. There really is no difference between dryers. Samsung, lg and whirlpool use the same heating systems. The motors are almost the same.
The pulleys on the Koreans fail at a high rate. The felt coming loose is often because it wasn't allowed to dry 24 hours before being used because most Techs don't want to make felt install a two trip job.
If you wait for the glue to cure first the felts won't come off.

The felts didn’t come off they tore or ripped.

I have the cheapest dryer available. 5 years not problems. I also have one of the most expensive washers available. Commercial maytag. Doesn't match but both are great.

Something has to be causing that. On Samsung the drums commonly crack also the bearings stick. Both can cause a torn felt. But that is rare.

Not my concern now, yay!

wow, yep. that looks alot like my 80s maytag.
incredible.
eta i would still be rocking those maytags if the washer tranny hadn't seized up.
i still see them at restores from time to time.

Highly recommend a top load high efficiency washer. We have an LG and it fits like 3 normal size loads into it. It has a huge drum. And it spins the clothes at a really high speed so their about half dry when you take them out and put them in the dryer, which goes about half the time a normal dryer would.
Have the matching dryer and haven't had any problems with either in 5+ years.
