Morning all!

Anyone have or know of a chicken plucker that I can rent for a day or a weekend? It would be sometime in the summer. Looking at doing a batch of meat birds.

Thanks!!

May want to ask on Outdoor Board about a duck plucker, I would think a duck plucker would work.

Used one of these when there were still ducks in Louisiana.

Yeah I’m considering that, but still, with doing 50+ I’m thinking the tub style with a hose attachment would be much easier and faster.

Thanks a bunch for the suggestion!

This thing is expensive but it looks like it could be worth the investment long term

This is the one my family has been using for 10+ years. You flip the switch for the washing machine motor and spray water into the tub when you throw in the bird.

Go to a homeless camp. They'll pluck chickens for $10 and a quart of beer.

I built one myself, and it worked great on the smaller birds. The motor would not turn the eight pound birds though.

Sledgehammer that one off the whiz bang plucker design? Thought that was the one my dad built for a second. Works great he even built a scalding pot out of a crawfish pot and a water heater element.

Ok didn't get anywhere with finding one to rent, so next question.

I'm just going to go ahead and purchase one. Is there anyone here that would be interested in renting from me for a day or weekend?

Gauging interest. I'm thinking if I rented it out several times during the summer it would help to offset the cost.

Here is the link for the machine I'm looking at. Looks like you can do 2 birds at a time.

it’s 500 bucks
granted that’s more than 50 bucks but still, you want to rent out a machine to recoup your 500? Whatchu gonna do when it comes back broken LOL?
