Lightly spot spray it 2-3 times or just let it die in the winter.
But pull as much as you can.

Now that you’re aware of the problem areas, treat them with MSM Turf or Celsius next April/May. You’ve got to start looking for it well before the white flowers appear.

I'm really enjoying the manual. It's definitely a hobby in itself.
Hoping to add a proper roller to it at some point.

What's the offseason plan for bermuda? Mine is slowly taking over the St Aug, probably about 50/50 in my front yard now. I normally throw down preemerg around October... still the same plan for bermuda? Anything else I should be doing?

Oh wow, 5 lbs?!
Much better than the 2 pounder on Amazon.

Is it striping?

That’s it. Fall and later winter pre emergent followed by a true scalp in March.
Meaning, to the dirt!

piggybacking on this for thoughts. I have st aug front yard and I'm sick of dealing with it. Large patch, drought stress, etc and I wanna covert to bermuda. About 1500 sq ft. Thinking of buying 150 celebration bermuda plugs and planting in the spring. Other than cutting low and hitting with high N fert, anything else I can do to encourage the bermuda to take over the st aug?

Eh, I can sort of stripe my zoysia in the back with a few passes. It gives the reel a lot of stability though which is nice. Doesn't jump around much at all.

I'm still working on getting my bermuda to fill in in the front. I've been following this thread a bit here and there and doing the same, but I haven't had the time to do as much as I wanted with a 2 year old and 9 month old. I've got a lot of leveling to do next year. Your lawn is looking great. Well done.

Edit - Shout out to Ronk for recommending the 7 blade. I had a 5 and upgraded. Night and day like he said.

You can water heavy about every 2-3 days once it gets pretty warm. That'll encourage it. I can't overstress just how much frequent low mowing helps.

Get yourself one of the cheap electric scarifier on Amazon.
Totally rips up the majority of st aug.
I like to clear the ground so bermuda can fill it in and get it's roots down instead of running on top.
Mow every couple days and spoon feed fert every 2 weeks and plenty of water.
You'll have no problem with plugs.

Do you have any bermuda currently on your lawn.
I wouldn't recommend mixing strains of bermuda on your lawn.

Unfortunately yes, I have common Bermuda in this area. For the past 4 years I’ve done everything I can to keep the Bermuda out, but now I’m switching gears to just let it run.

Why do you say you don’t suggest mixing Bermuda types?

First you have different growth rates.
Common is more invasive.
You will notice the difference in appearance and be standing there again trying to fight the Common.

If you want celebration I would just kill the st aug and Common.
Or you can just let the Common dominate.

Update for this month

The areas where I sprayed quinclorac to kill the centipede have all greened up again.

Bermuda spread is slowing a little with the shorter days.
Hoping the remaining bare areas can fill in and I can take care of the remaining centipede next spring.
Overall it's been a good 6-8 weeks

Great progress. That centipede is going to get dominated next spring/summer

noted, all good points. Guess I'll just let the Common roll and re-evaluate after a year or 2

With all the nitrogen I've been pumping it with I hope next spring will result in some centipede decline.
Got some leveling to do though.
Question will be how long I resist buying a reel mower.
I'm still kind of pissed that I threw away my reel mower last year.
