I've previously cut my centipede yard at a #3 setting which is about 2 1/4"
This year I've raised it to a #4 which is about 2 3/4"
Is there any pro or con to this?
The higher cut leaves a greener look.

I find cutting my front centipede yard on 2.75 and cutting my back st aug yard on 3 seems to be the sweet spot.
ETA: the green will train down if you maintain a lower cut. Just takes a little time.

I wouldn't say that there's anything wrong with cutting it at 2 3/4" but LSU recommends a lower HOC.
Centipede can be maintained between 1-2"
You can even reel mow it.
Give it a shot of Feature 6-0-0 if you want it green.
Fertilize every 2-3 months with 15-0-15

Reel mowing my centipede as well. I’m mowing at 5/8” about twice a week.
It loves being cut short.
I’d mow as low as your equipment allows without scalping. And mow often.
This assumes full sun and good soil etc.

Dang….that’s OCD love for centipede given its slow growth rate……but can’t knock the benefits of the cardio…

I have some 15-0-15 i've been waiting for weeks to put down on my centipede but I haven't had any rain here the entire month of April and city water is too high to use for irrigation. Hoping to get some rain Saturday so I may try to put it out tomorrow. I usually mow mine around 2" or so.
