Because a high end teak product can take it and looks even better with age. Ours is going on 15 years old and I've oiled it maybe twice. It gets used a lot and still holds up.

Went to restoration hardware in Nashville. Place is unbelievable but the chairs my wife liked were 3k each, so it definitely qualifies as high end
