We did a tour of Ashley and Rooms To Go this evening while Mrs. BTB hosted pokeno night at the house. Ashley was very limited on furniture options while RTG had almost too many. The best thing i got out of it was actually seeing what would fit in the rooms while also seeing what Baby BTB #1 could get in and out of on her own, along with how she would fit in some of these beds. Wayfair might end up being the way to go. I'm not opposed to mixed furniture pieces while they're kids. They'll eventually go to dorms/furnished apartaments after high school and maybe we get them nice mattresses then.

I am considering going with DreamCloud since they have decent pocket coil hybrid mattresses and should last at least until they enter high school. Parental planning is a doozy yall.

Get him/her the largest dog bed you can find. I'm serious.

My 2 1/2 yr old grandson has one like this. It’s either a full or queen size.

Wayfair or Amazon for kid furniture is the way to go. It's not meant to be forever furniture. I used to draw and carve my stuff when i was a kid

We have several Zinus twins mattresses that were around $100. They are hybrid coil/foam. Nice and firm. Kids will outgrow the twin before they are worn out.

My kids went from crib to twins. Then we moved and the people left us a queen bed and mattress (that had never been slept on) so my oldest took that. Then my friend had a queen bed that my youngest wanted so she took that. Two years later my oldest (high school) wants more room so she now has a twin daybed and loves it. It pulls out and we thrown an air mattress on it for sleepovers. Youngest sees how much more room she has and now she wants a twin.

Go with what makes sense in their rooms, they will be fine. I had a twin until my first apartment and survived. So many of my friends put their kids in full or queens right after cribs and ended up going smaller for a bit because the bed took up so much room they didn't have room for toys that reached max density in the 6-8 year range. Then they bought bigger when they got past the toy stage.

Little man when from a crib to a platform queen.

It seems crazy, but a zynus all wood platform bed was cheap. Same for a zynus NOT MADE IN CHINA memory foam mattress.

He doesn't weigh enough to breal it in and wont for a number of years.

Crib to queen. No problem on vacations or anything sleeping on a tiny air mattress to a twin/full bed. Dont over think it, if you don’t want to buy another bed in 5 years, just get the bigger bed.
