Also, my string trimmer head fell apart just from so much use/abrasion. I bought an Echo speed feed 400 head and swapped out the ryobi oem. That upgrade alone brought the trimmer up a tier.

Excellent info!!!

Mine did the same thing and I swapped it out with an Oregon brand Gator SpeedLoad head with the line cartridges and that has been a game changer for me and weed eating. Never was all that great at feeding the line into the other heads

I have Ryobi and it treats me well at a small semi-urban plot. Small amount of grass, a few hedges, and a couple trees.

Mower/hedge trimmer/edger/blower… plus you know a drill, saw, etc… for my very modest day to day tool usage

I think for the average person - as long as you have enough battery life and are just puttering around an average house occasionally… you aren’t going to go wrong with most of the established brands

Yeah, I’ve been pretty lucky and happy with my Ryobi 40V stuff.

I’ll admit, mines even all 18v and it’s totally fine for a basic yard upkeep

Gotta agree, there's a place for Ryobi One+ 18V tools. I don't think there's another brand/voltage series of battery operated tools that is more extensive. It may not be the best possible choice for some uses, but for many tools they work just fine and sometimes possibly the only choice without buying yet another brand series because your current brand series doesn't carry the tool you currently need. I also have Kobalt and Milwaukee battery operated tools.

interchangeable tool head system
on the EGO, be aware that the string trimmer head on the string trimmer attachment that fits on the interchangeable pole is different from the regular string trimmer. Head scratching but there’s probably a reason for this. Anyway, when your head wears out you probably won’t find the correct replacement in a store, and the ones you do find won’t fit the tool. I had to order one online

and yes I have a worthless replacement that I wasted 35 bucks on

Their brush cutter attachment is a beast.
