Does anyone know of anyone in Louisiana, that builds Barndos? Any contact info? We are located in Ascension. Looking for information on getting one built possibly.

might want to check on home owners insurance. I've heard it is hard to find someone to write a new policy on barndo's here.

It isn't a Barndo. Because a Barndo is just a style. There is no definition if what a Barndo is or isn't.
More accurately, it is a post frame custom home.

My father just moved into his new barndominium. Its around the Stonewall area. Originally Creed Consruction out of Shreveport was doing the job, but the owner basically took my fathers money and several others and quit paying his subs. Went out of business and to jail. It was finished up by a crew out of Texas and they did an awesome job. I will see if I can find out what company that was

the only thing it appears to reference (as you say) is a structural frame which differentiates it from more traditional residential stick framing.
what insurance companies are trying to exclude are pre-engineered metal buildings being used as residences

Typically written on a Dwelling Policy not a HO but as long as it's new/engineered it can be written. My problems writing them is always location (tier 1) and the price is higher for some reason nobody has been able to explain to me.
Find an independent agent and they will get it done.
