Wouldn't 2,4-D work?
Yes, for many of the broadleaf weeds the OP has in his lawn. But from the photos the OP also has grassy weeds in his lawn not killed by 2,4 D, or 2,4 D containing herbicides like Trimec or Weed Free Zone - Dallisgrass appearing to be one.
Dallisgrass is difficult to control and herbicides labeled for use for residential lawns that will kill it are very expensive. MSMA will kill it, which at one time was labeled for residential use, but no longer when the USEPA restricted its use by homeowners in large part due to the arsenic it contains. Just like the good CCA (contains arsenic) treated lumber that wouldn’t rot and EPA banned that for residential use for similar reasons.

Man, I’m never a a fan of nuking a yard that has grass. It took me 2 years and a pile of patience but if there’s Bermuda in the yard and you don’t want to spend hybrid sod money….. it’s salvageable. I started with a good broadleaf killer like speed zone or change up, after that I could see what I had. The grassy weeds came next, I used MSMTurf for the Bahia, dug up the Dallis grass and hit it with glyphosate in the winter. I put celebration Bermuda plugs in the dead spots and started a fert/pre schedule and it’s been smooth sailing since. From a guy who knew nothing about lawn maint lol…. It can be done.

This is exactly the correct answer and what I did. Any Bermuda will eventually fill in the yard, if sunny. I started with the cheap stuff and knocked out the most fragile weeds. Add plenty of fertilizer and then target the specific tough weeds. It took me two full seasons, but I brought my Bermuda back and it’s thick and green.

Thank you for the clarification.
I just assumed restricted meant it couldn't be bought without some form of license.

The dallisgrass should be nuked or manually removed. Folks always say there are selective herbicides for it, but I've never had one work. That weed is the devil.
Not to be disrespectful, but that's an impressive amount of weeds you have there. I have neighbors that don't give a shite about their yards and they have a magazine cover compared to what you are working with. I'm joking and laughing at your situation at the same time. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. lol

I'm only finding this in 2.5 gallon jugs.
Is there anywhere that sells smaller amounts?

Whatever you do, make sure you cut your yard at a much higher blade setting. Cutting low and scalping your yard gives weeds the best environment to thrive.

I would nuke it. It will take you about a month from the nuke until the last piece of sod is laid.
If you don't nuke, you are looking at about a two year project working from the ground down.

In S LA it may already be too late to use 2 4 D, the bottle I use says not to use on Bermuda once daily temps are over 80.

Same for me. It didn't take me 2 years either. My main issue after using the broadleaf killer was crabgrass and nut grass which I diligently spent 30 minutes at a time, 2-3 times per week pulling by hand. The following year my yard was beautiful. Pulling by hand sounds awful but honestly 30 minutes, twice a week is not bad at all. I would do it early Saturday when I woke up and one day during the week when I got home from work. Took me about 5-6 weeks before I got it all.
