Anyone had a water heater installed by Home Depot or Lowe's?

If so, what was the labor charge to install?

Home Depot and Lowes sub out to a plumber and add their markup, just hire a plumber.

Had home depot do it. I believe the unit was about $400 and the install about $300. So $700 and change for whole thing.
All they do is use plumbers that they have contracts with, so if you already have a plumber, might be about the same cost with a guy you trust over a stranger.
But i was satisfied with the work and cost wasnt significant. Not an attic install. Laundry room, ground floor.

I really regretted using Lowe’s plumber for a dishwasher install. They caused damage to my home and it was total pita to settle with Lowe’s

I picked up one from Lowe's for about $500 and paid a plumber I knew $300 to put it in. I would just do it separate so you can pick the plumber.

Electric or gas? Make sure to get one no bigger then your attic stair opening.

I had Home Depot do the windows in my house. Never again will I use them for anything. Inept, no concern, and just poor all around experience.

Home Depot.
Never again. Those frickers raised my flue and didn't fix the flashing on the roof. I fought with HD over this and it took three weeks to get them to send someone out to fix it.
