Been happy with the weed eater.

I'm not planning on cutting q lot of trees or anything. Just yard work trimming and some occasionally small log cutting.

I have a CS-590 Timber Wolf that is a beast. Probably bigger than what you're wanting but it's a really nice saw.

I have the same one. Changed to some sort of professional blade. Haven't used it in 2 years and fired it up this week to cut some pieces of cypress a neighbor was removing. Fired right up. Beast of a saw too.

Ok, thanks everyone.

Had a feeling they might be on par with the weed eater and alot cheaper than a stihl.

If you are speaking of the echo extension with a tree trimmer on it, yes, it is great!

I spent some time on one. No complaints. Cranks and cuts wood.

Echo CS-400 and CS-590 here. Father-in-law uses Stihl. Both brands do the job, but the Echos are much easier to crank.
