Well im one of them. Was just bragging on my yard a few days ago how nice it looked then boom this morning about 6:30 am i saw two to three piles of dirt in my front yard. I knew what it was immediately went to grab my 3 mole traps that rarely work but i set them where i thought he would go. Needless to say 2 to 4 more piles popped up working to the center of my yard few hours later.

I knew he was still digging just didnt know where he was headed. Since the traps were not working grabbed the garden house and shoved it in the last hole that i knew was fresh from the last 2 hours. Let it run 5 minutes wide open and waited. Sure enough about two feet from that final hole i started to see the top of the ground move he was coming up for air thats when i grabbed him and threw him in a bucket. Guess i found my new cheap Mole catcher. Just wanted to share my story for my first post on Home and Garden. I have ordered a bag of grub killer as well that i will spread tommorrow . Maybe it will help someone else save a few bucks on mole stuff and get rid of these little suckers from your yard as well.

I had a ton of moles, I started putting half a stick of juicy fruit gum throughout the holes then covered it up with dirt. I can tell that activity is down. They love the sweetness of the gum but can’t digest it. Also I’ve used those $30 Amazon scissor snap traps and have caught about 6 of them that way. Still a contestant battle though. Poison worms did nothing

Then he'd probably be spending thousands of dollars if he got a dog, even if the dog is free

Our 2 rat terriers disposed of all our moles (5 acres) as well as all the neighbors moles within a couple years. We had a Carin terrier that helped. Those dogs thrill to kill those critters. It's a beautiful sight to see them game up.

Those are the 3 traps i mentioned and have snagged a few but way after the fact. Not very reliable but as someone else mentioned the worms and pellets have never worked for me.

In California my son has a beautifully landscaped yard and, once a neighbor had an exterminator address moles in the neighbor’s yard, the moles moved to my son’s yard. The moles are fast and efficient in digging. It’s time to send the moles back to the neighbor.

When I used to live in GA I watched my neighbor drag a Waggon loaded with railroad spikes around his yard. He hammered them into the ground about an inch or two apart in a straight line about ten ft long. Then he made another similar line and formed a “V” with them. He put one of those mole kabob traps at the point.

He caught several. But needless to say he didn’t dent the population. I enjoyed watching him tho!

As for me, I had a dachshund who could sniff them suckers out with ease, but wasn’t very quick at digging. We also had a much bigger pound dog who could easily dig very fast. They worked as a team.

And I ended up having to rent a tiller to fix my yard. It was completely devastated.

Treat yard with insecticide to eliminate their food sources. Not an overnight fix but in time they'll leave

I had read this. I spread bifen granules all around the yard. Definitely didn’t slow them lol.

Probably why bifen isn't labeled for grubs.

I got fed up with moles a few years ago and ended up buying several different traps. The one below is the most effective and still use it.

Trapline Mole Traps
