Have the chance to buy one of these at a good price. Seeing if this tractor is enough for what I need. I have about 10 acres that will be needing brush hogged, seeded, and eventually used for hay. So the tractor will need to be able to handle that. The hay will be square bales as we don't have much need for round bales. In addition to this I have some projects that will require a box blade and light grading work (it does have a loader).

Any input would be appreciated.

I use a L2250 on ~25 acres, only 26 base hp and 21 hp at the pto. Mine did not have a loader on front, but it was a factory option. Bought it used from a Dr who never used it, for a great price, and i have loved it for 15 years. I don't do any discing or seeding, but plenty of box blading and bush hogging. I even pull downed an old house on my land with it, and really regretted not having a front end for pick up I know this isn't a review for your model, just testimony a smaller kubota can handle more land

My good friend has a 3902. They are powerful for their weight but are a small framed tractor. I wouldn’t hesitate to use it for clipping , disking ,grading and light loader work
I’ve owned a kubota tractor for 12 years and it’s been a great machine.

Just saw you said square bales. You should be just fine.

I think that one runs a 4’ bush hog. Not sure if it will run a 5 or 6 foot.

I have a 75 hp Deere and bush hog 20-35 acres with a 7’ bush hog. Takes me a few day to do it.

Not sure how often you will be running the bush hog but decide if a 48” cut on a tractor is worth it. A zero turn would run faster.

I have a 3902 with 30 hours on it. I was between it and the 3560, but ultimately went with the 3902 because it’s a smaller frame and lighter. I have soft ground and a lot of woods, so I needed maneuverability around trees and wanted a machine that wouldn’t totally destroy my ground.

I have a land plane, 5’ bushhog, forks, loader with third function, and have a grapple on order from everything attachments. If you get a grapple, look into their stuff. They’re significantly lighter than competitors which is important for the 3902 because it only has like 1200lbs of lifting capacity.

Mine is HST and I’d recommend it if you are gonna be doing a lot of loader work. Way more convenient than shuttle shift and I can’t imagine going back to that. It whines, but I filled my ROPS with expanding foam and it cut down the noise a lot. The tractor is plenty powerful enough for me. Overall I’ve been super happy with the tractor and wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again.

I have a 2022 3901. I use the grapple a whole lot. A fabulous addition. The grapple rake can clear out privet pretty good. It’s nice to have that clearing capability.

Like the previous guy said, the lift capacity is a lil low - 1200. A jump up to the 47 HP was 10 grand. I couldn’t do that. The lift goes up to 1650 I believe.

The tractor drives easier than a car. I have the shuttle shift, which is about 2-3 more HP than a hydro. You won’t regret buying it.

My L3901 is now 8-9 yrs old. My property is 3 acres. I have a loader on it, bionic blade, forks & 5’ tiller box. Never bush hogged with it. Been a great tractor and does everything I need. Mine is HST and that has been great. I bought this thing 8-9 yrs ago and loaned it to everyone on the street now there’s 3 others on the street. I haul it all over (my camp, my business, my buddies) and it’s easy to tow on my trailer. You’ll love it.

I have one for 260 acres (we really only mow and bush hog like 25 acres of it) and it's perfect. I like it a lot.

I considered that move too. The price jump wasn't as big at my dealer, but the frame size was ultimately the dealbreaker for me. The 3901/3902 is the same frame size as the 2501. So easy to maneuver, trailer, etc.

ETA: regarding the earlier poster's comment about cutter size, the 3902 has zero problem with a 60" bushhog. You could probably even run a 72" in lighter stuff but I'd think it would bog in really heavy/thick stuff.
