Another Fencepost Thread....Postmaster versus Metal Pipes...Thoughts

Thoughts on post options for 6' wooden privacy fence? Some contractors offer either as an option and i was just wondering if the HG board had any experiences or opinions.
It seems the install of Postmaster is done by hammering in the post approximately 36" and the regular post install is typically 18-24" concreted.
Thoughts/Opinions are appreciated
TIA

The fence will be your standard 6 ft cedar fence. I think the postmaster comes in a 9' length with 3' driven into the ground.......whereas the pipes are 8' lengths with 2' inground and concreted.

I am in the midst of doing an 8' treated pine fence. I'm using 4x6 posts 4' in the ground, 5 rows of lateral boards, and 1x6x8 boards in place of pickets. This is strong.
Personally, I'm not sold on the potential of bending metal posts but that may be fine on your 6' fence.
Good luck with your project. I empathize with you.

After Ida took down my back fence (largely due to the original posts being rotten), I decided to go with galvanized steel pipes in place of wooden posts.
It definitely feels more sturdy than my side fences, which are mounted on standard wooden posts. Time will tell. Good luck with your project.

Also compare your steel posts. They come in different thicknesses if you buy from big box store vs fencing store.

This is the way. Well worth the additional cost IMO.

2 3/8" heavy wall galvinized pipe pounded in 3' with no concrete. This is for an 8' fence

Metal posts all day
No warping or rotting like wooden posts

Wood posts are fine if done correctly
