Looking to build in land that we own in Ascension. Want to keep the home between 1500-1650sq ft. Looking for a 3bedroom/2 bath build and a carport. We are not in a flood zone and did not flood in 2016.
Looked at Sunrise Builders and Cretin (meh).

Any locals that you would recommend? Any to stay away from?

Don’t take this the wrong way but that house isn’t worth building that small right now. You really need to shoot for 1800 but honestly 2000 sq ft or more. Under 2000 and builders are just going to charge you more per sq ft most likely. They need to make a certain amount to make their time worth it.

Just got quotes from a few guys.

They laughed at me when I threw out my version of "affordable." Sadly, I referenced actual quotes from a few years ago before material costs increased 3x.

It's out of control.

Take a look at Manuel Builders - that size is in their wheelhouse. They build their plans on your land. They’ve done a few in Ascension Parish recently.
