Adding water to pool during hot weather

We have a liner pool. In the first few months we had it, my dog put a tiny hole in liner. We found and repaired it, no big deal. Now in the last month or so, we are adding water 1-2 times a week. We are just outside of Baton Rouge and it has been insanely hot. I have read online that losing 1/4 inch a day is not uncommon. I imagine we are right around 1/4 inch a day but it seems like alot since it's so hot lately.
This sound normal or am I just paranoid?

Evaporation has been a real thing the last few weeks. In a normal summer (like two or three years ago) the afternoon rains add the water to balance out the evaporation. However, when it's 100 during the day and it doesn't rain, you can really start to notice.
Just keep up with the chlorine and cyanuric acid levels because the CYA can get dangerously high during the hottest part of the summer.

Do the bucket test. Scoop a bucket of pool water, sit it on a step or seat and match the top water level in bucket with that of the pool.
If the pool drops faster than the bucket after a day or 3, you probably have a leak.

Seems normal. We add 30 minutes of water a couple times per week in the Texas summer. I wish it was a leak because then calcium would come down but it’s not.

I have a liner as well. During the summer with no rain it drops about 1-2" per week. I usually add water when it gets low. I have some fountains as well. If I run those it drops even faster, but the fountains dramatically cool the pool.

Same evap here plus a Lab that is batshit annoying if he doesn’t get a swim each day. He drags more water out than the heat does.

This. I can hear my fill valve running wide open every time I walk outside.
