You better water those patches of sod after they put them back. They did this recently to my yard. Dug the sod, left it out for 2 days, and then put it back with no water to make some nice pretty brown rectangles of sod in the yard.

ETA: I now see your update. Exactly what I expected.

That just happened in my yard. It wasn’t too bad, except for the red clay they left walking up and down my sidewalk. I just had the sidewalk and driveway professionally cleaned prior to them doing all this. I went and bought 6 pieces of sod and fixed their holes they left soon as they moved on out of my yard. Outside of the clay on the sidewalk it’s hard to tell they were even there after a month. Yes it sucked but not much you can do but roll with it.

So I shouldn’t complain that they filled it in with cheap Home Depot sod that is completely different than my main grass?
now you are crying like a girl. Man up, go get some new sod and fill in the disturbed area. It’ll be like it never happened

or…you can keep whining here.

Come on, man.

This will be a non-issue by next summer.

Dude. I warned you. Yes it sucks, but you could have been pro active.

But hear this...you may at least be able to tell them that you don't want THEM fixing it. They are going to, unfathomable as it may seem, "insert", meaning "throw down" St. Aug or Centipede sod where they did the worst damage. And it sounds like you have bermuda....

Here’s the tough truth. The good part of your lawn can get a lot better.
Get rid of the “new” sod, bring it some sand, scalp, level, fert, and water.
