4 hooks on wall - need help

So basically what I have is a mud room and the wife wants 4 hooks on it. It is 67 and 3/4 wide.
Trying to hang 4 hooks with same distance in between them.
Any easy way to figure this out. Sounds stupid but I can’t figure it out.

Divide that by 4 and come off of one side with that distance then repeat.

First figure out how far off the corner you want to be then do the same on the other corner mark the center inbetween then split the center to 1st hook and repeat

This isn’t going to work. You have to divide by 5 (spaces btw hooks) because you have 4 hooks. If you space it out like this , you’d end up with a hook at the wall

Its actually 67.75 divided by 3 = 22.58". If you have hooks at both ends divide the remaining distance by 3.
0" = hook no. 1
22.58" = hook no. 2
45.08" = hook no. 3 and
67.75" = hook no. 4.
If you want to bring your end hooks a few inches away from the walls adjust the math accordingly.
0" = hook no. 1
22.58" = hook no. 2
45.08" = hook no. 3 and
67.75" = hook no. 4.

You are correct if this is true. However, this is not how most “mud rooms” are configured.
This is an example of what I assume the OP is referring to

Yes maybe I misunderstood. If hooks aren't at the end divide the total measurement by 5 and you are correct 13.55".

Put hooks 10" apart on 1x4 plank then mount the plank centered on the wall. Paint.
You don't want coat hooks in drywall. Put hooks in wood, then mount wood with toggle bolts to wall. Similar to pic above.

Mound the hooks on a piece of wood, then mount the wood to the wall via attaching to studs

just use the studs, they will be 16" on center and you dont have to have it perfectly centered, just line it up so you offset it away from the door side
for a mud room you want them in the studs so they dont pull out of the sheet rock when big heavy coats are hung there

[/quote If it’s like mine I have 4 cubbies at top and wanted them centered underneath . Divide /4. 16 15/16 then divide in half 8 1/2
First one at 8 1/2 from wall then 16 15/16 apart.
