cucumber/squash seedlings outside to get some light in temps that are in the low to mid-50s? They'd get sunlight but no warmth. I had them under my grow-light but they won't fit since I adjusted the height.

I’ve been doing this for a couple weeks. Now I leave them out whenever the sun is out.

We deployed the decoy rocks this past weekend. Wife and daughter picked 4 strawberries yesterday and there are 3-4 more that will be ready tomorrow. Crossing our fingers.

I spent $300 on planting mix yesterday and just ordered my new drip setup from Drip Depot. I am tired of spending money. These vegetables better taste good.

Now 37° on Sunday night for Broussard/Youngsville. Glad I only planted 1/3 of my garden.

I’m glad I didn’t jump the gun. That’s for sure.

I haven’t planted tomatoes or peppers yet either.

Of course, I just moved 3 trays of peppers and 6 trays of tomatoes back under the grow lights in the garage. Winds increasing 15-25 tonight, gusts to 31 tomorrow and up to 37 on Friday. Low of 38 predicted Sunday night now.

32 on Monday, 37 on Tues.

My butternut squash may not survive. Any idea what’s going on with them?

Worst case is I’ll have a later crop if they don’t make it. May just sow some more anyway for good measure.

Did you just start putting them in the sun? If so, sunscald. Can’t be powdery mildew already.

Been out in the sun for a couple weeks. Maybe too soon/too much

If a couple of weeks I think they would be hardened up and not scald. Maybe try some copper fungicide. Maybe Pillage knows.

That looks like sun scald. It happens a lot with cucurbits that have been started inside in my experience. They’re more difficult to harden off than tomatoes/peppers.

Now a low of 33° for Sunday. We went from 41° to 33° in 2 days.
I'm going to have to cover my tomatoes and dig up my cucumbers.

I second this. It’s one of the reasons I wait to direct sow them. Too much of a PITA.

I’m now showing a low of 30. This is ridiculous.

It dropped to 31 for me. Since my plants are small I'm thinking of putting gallon zip locks over them. Also, my wife's amazon habit will come in handy for a lot of them. I'm going to put a box over some with some mulch on top.
