There's only one seeded variety of zoysia, zenith.
Likely you would just end up with a mixed lawn of Bermuda and zoysia. Some areas the zoysia might take over, other areas the Bermuda would stand out.

You aren’t worried about damaging the boxwoods with the round up? Are you just really careful and do it when it’s not windy out?
I'm careful in general to avoid overspray and drift. And that really goes for any herbicide use. I've never had any issues. Plus you'd really have to douse the boxwood to kill but you might get some leaf damage if you drift. I don't use Roundup/glyphosate that much in my landscape. I mostly use Ortho ground clear which is a little safer but not at effective as round up. I personally don't take the time to do any selective herbicides in my beds.
Not sure if anyone else wants to chime in, if they do something different in their landscape beds or around box woods?

Here's my back yard from last year. Hope to get it back to this condition. Ida wrecked a lot and yard is still under construction.

Just moved into a new house, and trying to get the yard somewhat better. Should I spray Atrazine and Surfactant, before I fertilize? Or vice versa? And how long do I need to wait in between?

Fertilize, mow twice a week and spot treat obvious broadleaf weeds clover, junk with yellow flowers etc. Wouldn’t worry much about poa right now. It’ll die off soon.

Your lawn is incredible. Congrats. My centipede lawn is getting there but definitely jelly.

We just finished a construction project off the back of the house. Now I have to get off my arse and get the yard looking right again. I will admit it was nice to not deal with it at the end of last year

If you said I don’t remember. What’s the grass type? You can’t spray atrazine on Bermuda right now. If broadleaf weeds then spray msm. You can fert and treat weeds on the same day.

I need to find a good spreader. Mine crapped out and every time I need one I think about it too late. I try and buy one online and they are like 6 weeks. Bought a cheap one and it just doesn’t spread very evenly.

Came here first before starting my own thread and am hoping for some help. I have a camp down on Belle River. The yard is about an acre and gets a lot of full sun. In November we filled in a lowland area and ultimately the entire yard was redone with several hundred yards of new dirt. I planted some rye grass to just have something there and minimize erosion. My neighbors have now filled in their yard and the risk of the rising river covering the yard is low. Now I am ready to spread some seed to get some longer term grass growing.
This is a camp so I won’t be home during the week to water the lawn. I usually am there 26-30 weekends a year. My goal is something that can handle the south Louisiana weather without me babysitting. I am not trying to win yard of the year but just need some solid ground cover. Any recommendations are welcome.

need to find a good spreade
People swear by lesco but I don't really need a a large capacity spreader and hesitant to drop the $$$ even if it will last a lifetime.
I'm looking into the chapin/echo ones. I use a Scott's spreader right now and it's pretty much junk.

With full sun, Bermuda is what you want.
I would at least consider setting up a sprinkler hose and a timer if you're gonna try to get something growing by seed and maybe work in areas until you start to get fill in.

Mainly hard clay and some black jack as bottom filler. Didn’t ask specifics to be honest.

Sounds good. Yeah I can certainly setup something and my neighbors will probably help if I ask them to.

Just curious. Glad not river silt. I have a lot of clay and blackjack. My zoysia grows fine and healthy.

Thanks a ton. Really appreciate it. I just need some turf down to prevent erosion and dust. How quick was yours to take?

Aerated and overseeded yesterday. I think my front yard was having compaction issues so I am interested to see the results.

Hey folks,
If I apply Atrazine this afternoon before the rain will it lose its effectiveness?
Interwebs seems to have inconsistent answers [surprise]. I have a couple broadleafs id like to get rid of in my centipede. Burweed mostly
