I’m sore as hell today. I’m not as young and in shape as I used to be.

Yeah, no shite. Just noticed we are supposed to hit upper 30s for the next two mornings. And just noticed by green beans, squash, and chard are sprouting.

I saw one guy on a Facebook group I'm in talking about spraying off his frost-covered plants before the sun hits them. Anyone done that before? With the wind blowing here, it would be a pain in the arse to cover everything. My yard is wide open, so nothing stopping that north wind from blowing any cover off.

I looked at my pics from last year and it's night and day difference with this year. This will be my least productive garden ever.

Yeah, same here. My cucumbers were about 2 feet up the trellis this time last year. They’re only about 2-3 inches tall right now.

ETA: I have some frost blankets. Gonna cover the cucumber and bean rows with that and just put some plastic bags over the tomato and pepper plants.

Are any of y’all using drip irrigation?

Lost a few cucumber plants. Stems just shriveled up. The rest are just now making progress. Green beans look good, just not growing.

I do. Made it out of PVC and garden hose. All set up with a timer. I’ll try to find a pic.

ETA:

Anyone with success storing seed packets until the following year?

I've bought varieties of several plants and there's no way I'm using all of them this year.

If not - group OB seed buy next year? Maybe Home/Garden seed buy if next year

In ziplocks in the fridge, but don’t store them in a fridge with apples.

One small section of my yard had a very light frost, but no frost on my plants. I had just covered the beans an cucs. But I’m covering everything tonight. One more morning and we’ll be in the clear.

Overkill?

I don’t care. I’d rather not risk it at this point. I’ve put too much effort into this damn garden. Forecast is giving a low of fricken 36 here for the morning. This is deer hunting weather.

Also, got a delivery today.

That didn’t take long.

They’re forecasting 39 here but only for like an hour supposedly. I covered everything except the peppers. They didn’t seem to bothered by the frost we got here a couple weeks ago. It’s aggravating though because the tomatoes finally started filling out, growing, and blooming this week. Hopefully this weather doesn’t set them back too much.

How are you applying the TT food? Is this stuff proven?

I built a walk-through trellis over the weekend. Gonna string it up with hemp twine using eye hooks on the side and top. Planting cucumbers and passionfruit in the box. BUILT IT USING ONLY A HAND SAW.

If you have a sharp handsaw it’s not that hard to cut the 2x4’s.

Don't know yet. Apparently it's been around for a while. Plenty of glowing testimonials. The folks over on the tomatoville forum swear by it. This will be my first time using it.

They provide pretty thorough instructions. But, it's basically just 1 TBS per gallon of water.

ETA: I see we've been moved. oh well.

Yes, I have both drippers and microsprayers on all of my plants including my garden.
