Just started a week ago, how screwed am I? I have an Appt with the dealer next Tuesday, just out of warranty, Will they or Ford take care of me?

If you do not have a third party extended warranty or outside of the factory drivetrain warranty, then yes you are on the hook for it. Remember that some dealerships offer an extended drivetrain warranty to 100k miles or lifetime as a benefit from purchasing from them. I think Matt Bowers sometimes will throw something like that in, even with used vehicles.
At the dealership, expect $3k-$5k total cost and a few days of it being in the shop.
Edit - lifetime powertrain protection for this 2021 Raptor. Seems like a pretty decent offer lol

There’s a bulletin out on the cam phaser, Google or f150 forums will get you more info than we can give you. Had my 18 done in 21 under the “recall”. Sons 18 was done in 20 and bought it used.
Don’t give up hope.

What engine do you have? Just curious as I just bought a new 3.5 a few months ago ago.

I think cam phases only affected Gen 2 models.

Had a 2019 Expedition and had the cam phaser issues as well. The recall thankfully covered it.

THIS
Also, I've heard horror stories that even after a dealership repair, that it came back...

I don't own a modern Ford but did kick the tires on one a while back. The cam phasers were one of my sticking points.
If it were me, I'd DIY it with a cam phaser delete/lockout kit. If you can't DIY it, I'd look for a local shop willing to do it for me. You lose a few mpg by disabling the variable valve timing but you gain the reliability of not having it...
eta: depending on your engine the lockout/delete route may not be an option

I have watched a few vids now, in some cases my VIN may have extended coverage. If the dealer doesn't help, open a case with Ford and push on them. Also when doing repair, be sure it is with the new parts, not the old that will fail again.
