There are always borderline cases, but lately blatant political threads have taken over. There's one on the front page right now about Cuomo with the usual suspects turning it into the usual shitshow. Can we have one nonpartisan board, please?

Covid is a big topic, so it should have a place on the OT. Same with threads concerning local politicians.
It's when we start getting Facebook Mom culture war stuff or threads about NY politicians or just started by the known PT hacks. The admins probably want to slam the door shut on that.

They don’t. Or at least chicken clearly doesn’t. A large contingent of ot regulars have lamented about how the OT has been taken over by incessant blatantly political topics. Nothing is done.

then give it ONE stickied thread.
the rules say dont start a thread for every thought. if the topic of the thread could be a response in an already existing thread then it should be. we are not the rant or the scoreboard.

the morons with Prairieville and Zachary and Dry Prong in their bios making threads about New Orleans every time someone sneezes here is just as bad

Might as well change the name from OT to COVID/AFGHANISTAN BOARD.

I'll grant you the political threads are OOC on the OT, but, in all honesty, that's just a reflection of what I'm seeing in the "real world."
I distinctly remember during the 2000 Presidential election that our preacher made a big deal from the pulpit about how he would never tell anyone how to vote. His politics were not exactly a secret--he was a conservative Southern Baptist who favored GWB over Algore, but he eschewed any overtly political messaging in his sermons.
Fast forward 20+ years, and we've got every kind of political messaging imaginable from our pulpit--quoting FoxNews, OAN, etc. They obviously stop just short of the IRS line, but there's no question where the speakers stand on the political issue/candidate du jour.
So, I suppose the OT is just reflecting the overt partisanship pervading today's society.
And, Les Miles has lost control.
