I don't really care, but every frick head starting a thread for every piece of equipment he buys is a bit much, just screams "hey look at me I play golf"

I play and somehow manage without the MSB's knowledge of proper golf underwear.

negative... "Golfers" were told there would be no golf board and that golf discussion belonged on the MSB, so that's where it is.

It's summertime hg... lots of tournaments - Major Championships, local amateur tournaments, etc and believe it or not the depth and quality of amateur golfers in the area is very good.

Golf is an addictive sport and one people are always trying to improve on. They want to discuss it, learn new things, and get the next best product to help them hit it longer and score better.

IMO TD is fricking up by not starting its own golf board. Call it the "Country Club Sports Board - Golf, Tennis, Polo, Aquestrian, Swimming" whatever...

Here's a thought. There is no football. No basketball. Soccer has its own board. Baseball and Golf are what you have right now.

So what do you suggest the More Sports Board be filled with this time of year? Do you want more Lebron threads? How about some solid Matt Ryan or Aaron Rodgers threads? How about a NASCAR thread or two?

How about a, "what other websites do yall post on?" or "where can I putt?" or "who has old equipment?"

Golf threads are fine.

The MSB is perfect for this weekend's tournament or discussion about PGA players.

The threads about your own golfing experiences are what is causing in the problem to some people.

I am actually for the creation of a Golf Board. I will never use it, but if there is the popularity then why not? Just please do not spam the frick out of other boards.

If the MSB isn't enough for them, just merge the soccer board with a new golf board.

Call it...

Must be painful having your golf threads anchored.

And to those people I say "dont click on it." And if your mad it's there, start more threads to make it go away.

This, and I don't get why the OT, as opposed to all the other Sports related boards, is considered the place for it.
Unless people are viewing it as less of a sport and more of a hobby

I think thats the reasoning here. Most amateur golfers arent good enough at golf to compete, so its a hobby. The only problem i have with that, is a lot of the golfers on the board dont frequent the OT. I sometimes go all day withoug clicking on it, and im missing out on golf threads that i would otherwise see. I really just dont understand the soccer fans are so adament about hating on golf, as if their precious little board is going to be inundated with golf threads.

I can understand where they are coming from. But the point remains is that, if golf, however amateur, is going to be recognized as a Sport on here, then it belongs on the several sports boards (MSB, or merge with the soccer board {hooligans and mulligans is my idea}).

That, or make a hobby board.

One option is to create on the MSB what has been done to the SEC rant. Have links to different sports and allow threads to be tagged accordingly. Don't change the MSB, it can be a mesh of everything, but if you want to focus on a specific topic or sport, or avoid others, you have the option.

The only problem with this is that it will really clutter the MSB itself even more and only the most breaking and biggest news will remain on the first page.

Also, sidenote, we NEED a temporary olympics board for 2012 summer olympics. I remember in 2008 people would always complain about results being posted on the MSB spoiling it for them because of the time difference and the delayed showing of sports.

I don't like this particular idea, but it does have some points that have merit.

How about this. Have a "Big Leagues Board"
This could cover all the major happenings in the professional circuit not pertaining specifically to LSU/LA/SEC teams.
Let soccer fans keep their board. They are rabid, from what I've seen of those hooligans.
All other Major league/ NCAA discussion goes on the big leagues board.

Then, have a hobby/amateur board.

My idea needs tweaking, but, IMHO, has potential to provide maximum value.
