Rex was clearly using the word "token" in a racial context.
Is he racist? I dunno.
He was clearly inferring that there is something wrong with a black person that has a conservative political viewpoint.
That is somewhat inherently racist, suggesting that black people are only allowed to think the way he believes they should.
