It is the pros and cons of free speech. In our society even the lowest common denominators get an open voice. And folks certainly have a right to be critical when they see something they don't like. It is more about how folks go about it.
Then again this could be North Korean society. Stalinist Soviet Union and Red China certainly would not have allowed this fun. I'd rather live in a world of trolls, bickering, fake news, National Enquirer/tabloid type trash instead of the alternative. It would suck to be afraid to be banished to a gulag or worse if you spoke up against the party line or the government.

In summation, I am of the opinion that if I had any control of a fantastic medium for a major college football team like you have, I don’t think I’d let folks hang around that are disparaging to the program I support. I mean if a potential recruit reads some of this hate what will he think? Again, critical is one thing and detriment and hate for lsu, it’s coaches and players is another. Ban them boss. Please. If you are really unhappy, blame Alleva. His halfassed "search" brought this on and he deserves every bit of the criticism and pressure he's getting. He hired a coach who at best was unproven, at worst had proved he should never be a head coach. Well, this is what happens.

I may be one of the few but I completely understand where you’re coming from. There are many other boards on this site that feature posters who are knowledgeable and informative, i.e Recruiting Board, etc. The majority of Rant posters are actually considered a joke by the more level headed members that post on other boards. The Rant has become a haven for alters and whiners who would rather be right in seeing LSU fail as opposed to happy if they succeed, which would prove them wrong.

This is the only message board I post on and the reason I enjoy this site is because of the format and the activity. If you start getting rid of people just because of their opinion, then this site wouldn't be what it is.
In order to have discussions, you need a balance of opinions. While I don't post on the Rant that much, I do like to read what people are saying about whatever is going on at the moment and having various opinions at least makes you look at both sides of things.
Sure, there are some ignorant opinions, but just take it with a grain of salt and move on. If things get too far out of line the admins will take care of it, other than that.. People should be able to share whatever opinion they have.

I’ve gotten banned before for a sarcastic comment made in jest about Johnny Jones, and I know people who were banned for criticizing Miles. I think the admins are mostly anti-O so they allow bashing of him.
