When I do mid-chest exercises, bench, flys, chest press, etc, I start to get sore behind my shoulder and in front of my shoulder blade before I can feel the burn in my chest. What about my arms or hand placement do I need to switch up?
This just started happening and I haven’t had any issues the last two years.

Maybe your elbows are too flared out? Or it could be an issue with your shoulder.

I have zero expertise in either area though.

Make sure that your shoulders are locked down. Try to make your pecs move your humerus while keeping your shoulder joints stationary.

This is probably it. Whenever i have a question on form i look up Rippetoe videos on YT. He teaches things so well

Update:

Turns out my elbows weren’t flared out enough. I’ve been toying with my form and flared my elbows out a little bit today. No shoulder pain. I think I’ve been over-correcting.
