Looking to add to my home gym. I’ve done some preliminary research, but what does the board say? Water? Magnetic?

Concept 2 or Xebex

I have the Xebex bought from GetRxd, for the price at the time was the better deal for me. But I have used both and like them both.

Was out of town for a few weeks and the gym I went to had a water rower (life Fitness) I hated it. not sure why just did not feel right to me.

Concept 2 is best, xebex is closer second. All others suck.

I am very satisfied with my Concept 2. Protip: you will want a seat pad. Another protip: Watch a lot of rowing videos. It's not hard to get the hang of it, but there's some technique involved in rowing efficiently.

Why is Concept 2 apparently so much better? I hear this a lot; just looking for personal experiences

It's the way the concept 2 and xebex are built. Concept 2 has been around a lot longer though and is the standard. They last for hundreds of thousands, sometimes up to a million miles

Yep its why the resale value of them is damn near market value of a new one.
