for a strained rotator cuff. It definitely feels better but I had to pay the price for that relief.

Should see a PT.
If in BR, Delta Physical Therapy on Harrell's Ferry has fantastic doctors.

Fake arse doctors. My wife’s a DPT and the industry is a joke. Almost as bad as chiro, but slightly more respectable.

Okay, so who are you supposed to see if your physically messed up if not a PT?
What's so bad about the PT industry?

I posted this because I never really thought Chiropractors were legit. It happened to be a referral from someone in the medical community that I trust. I've been to a PT for a strained calf and the Chiropractor did the same thing my PT did. Ultrasound therapy then massage. It worked to my surprise.

I’ve never been to a chiro but I’ve been seriously considering it. My leg/hip joints click/pop in and out all the time. I’m curious if a chiro could help with it doing leg pulls or something

you aren't really this dumb are you?

Unfortunately, I think he is.

I’ve never been to a chiropractor, so I can’t speak for them. I did see a PT for a bulging disc, and he was excellent.
Can I ask why chiropractors have such a bad rep?

Personally I always go to an orthopedic surgeon or a sports medicine M.D. first and they will direct me to a physical therapist after we’ve figured out the problem. You do not want a DPT trying to “diagnose” your problems. #1 they are not qualified to do so and #2 the vast majority are not capable due to the WIDE disparity in education amongst the DPT’s in this country. There is a reason why direct access to a physical therapist is restricted in the vast majority of states. A physical therapist cannot even order x-rays (unless they work in a clinic with a physician on staff). They are worthless to diagnose your problems.
If you do go to a physical therapist make 100% sure all your interactions are with the DPT and not a PTA or worse a tech who’s far exceeding their authority. PTA’s are legit retards with an associates degree.
Also make sure the DPT you are seeing is well versed in several methods of functional therapy and not just palliative care.
Again this is coming from someone who’s wife is a practicing DPT for over 13 years and is certified on myofascial release, maitlands, and dry needling. Being a DPT is a great career though and you can rake in the dough ($65+/hr) depending on your experience and location.

They are witch doctors. Look at the idiot ring dinger as the prime example. He treats 100% of his patients the same no matter the symptoms.
They manipulate you way beyond what is prudent or necessary. If you want a legit manipulation grounded in science you need to find a physical therapist who’s versed in maitlands.

Nearly every professional sports franchise has chiros on staff. Doubt they are witch drs.

Not sure who that is but if you go to a chiro with low back pain you’ll probably get some therapy and adjustment to that area. Go to one with mid back pain and you’ll probably get same therapy and an adjustment to that area. You could probably say the same about a dentist. Go to a dentist with a toothache and you’ll probably get a filling most of the time.

Mine doesn’t but I’m sure there are some.

I can't speak to all PT offices but I believe the office I visit is fantastic.
Initial visits for new patients and/or new injury go to the DPTs, but after a couple of sessions they get the PTA to take over as recovery progresses. The techs don't do much st all besides menial tasks to help keep the place running.
There are two DPTs where I go. One is from Canada and has a TON of credentials. They both do all the stuff you're talking about, and the PTA doesn't do anything but take you through prescribed rehab exercises. I know you weren't pointing out mine specifically but just saying I think the PTs I visit are highly competent so they're not all quacks. They also explain what's wrong, why they're choosing the treatments they're using, and assign recovery homework to do at home. The goal is to help the patient understand the problem and the fix as best they can.
Anyway I've only ever had muscle strains and tendonitis. If I felt like I had something more serious am orthopedic surgeon probably would be a good place to go, depending on the problem.

Of course there are the internet videos that pop necks and all are healed. Most injuries take time to heal and are not quick fixes. Have to have that mindset.
Here is my experience. One sat morn, I went for a run then went straight to the squat bar like an idiot. Tired with poor form, screwed something up in lower back. Laid up rest of day, with no relief on Sunday either. Mon morn wife has enough of my complaining and stubbornness and makes appt with a sports chiropractor for me.
They didn’t do any crazy stuff. They stretched out the area and the rest of my back really well, along with some minor adjustments (ex popping). They had the knowledge and tools of how to properly relieve the tension and pressures. They used the table that drops off at hips and had assistant hold one leg while moving the other and increase range on motion among other things. They were stretching me in ways I can’t do by myself or on the floor. It helped tremendously, but it wasn’t a one time cure all. It is a progression heal because I had strained that area. They had me come back a few times over the course of a month where they did pretty much the same routine. Each time I felt better, all while I was taking it easy and healing on my own.
They didn’t “fix” me, but they undoubtedly aided me in my injury repair which I’m most grateful for. They understood my injury and what was required to heal at a proper pace. I’m sure there are other types of issues where other treatments are used, but this type of treatment was what I needed.
I sometimes go back every once in while when I’m feeling tight (mostly due to laziness in my stretching), and because it feels great afterwards.
Bonus, after they work my lower back and hips, I usually take an incredible dump when I get home.
