I get mild migraines every six months or so. They usually last about half a day and I’m good to go. Today though, it hit me just as I was getting out of bed this morning around 6 am. It’s the worst I ever had. I basically laid still in my sons bed (he has the darkest room in the house) all day. I’ve tried a hot shower, excedrin, cold and hot compresses, but nothing works. Anything else I can do to make the pain subside or do I have to just ride it out?

Apply point pressure to the infra orbital nerve (small notch in bone ridge below lower lid) on side of pain.

Also try same on super orbital nerve and artery at the small notch in bone ridge of eyebrow near the nose.

15 min of high flow O2 works well also

Magnesium supplements sometimes help me. Caffeine, too. But sometimes nothing helps, and it’s miserable. I hope you got some rest.

Although I slept like shite last night, the pain has subsided tremendously. Yesterday the pain was around an 8. During the night around a 6. Right now it’s at a 2 at most.

I used to take Midrin (brand name) but the shite goes on and off the market so often that I’ve given up trying to keep up with the name it’s currently sold under. Your doctor will probably know what it’s sold as now. One of the very few meds that actually helpes when a migraine hits … take a couple of those red pills and it's either gone or at least manageable within short order.
