I’ve been doing the basic barbell lifts for a long time. I just bought a cable station. What are the top most simple and effective exercises for a cable station. Like if you could only do 6 or so lifts on it what would you choose for the most bang for your buck.

What type of cable station?

Pull it down, pull it up, and pull it out

Lat pull-down
Tricep push down
Overhead tricep extension
Curl
Single-arm chest fly
Single-arm reverse fly
Cable crunch?
Could maybe get a handle or strap and use the lower one for hip flexor/abductor/adductor stuff? I don't do a whole lot of those movements but I see them on the sticker on the cable crossover machine at my gym. I like cables for taking my time and really feeling the burn on the eccentric part of the exercises.

Get long handles for it.
Tricep pull downs super setted with overhead pulls is all the tricep you’ll need. Creates the horseshoe. Let me know if you need explanation.
Lat pull downs (narrow and wide)
Curls (narrow and wide)
Lat straight arm pull downs
Glute leg raises
Mule kicks
Just aim for 8-12 reps per set and go close to failure every set. Try to hit 12-16 sets per muscle group per week. (Per Galpin)

i love a good cable machine, you can do so much with them. i do struggle with leg workouts with them though.
overhead triceps extensions are probably my absolute favorite thing on cable. closely followed by facepulls.
Lat pull downs and cable rows are also very good. Chest flies (single side at time for me). Deltoid work (couple different exercises), curls.
you might have to get a little creative for some of those with that particular unit.
