At work tonight, but tracking shows that they came in. I'm afraid to ask my wife to confirm.

Planning a tempo run tomorrow (albeit in 15 mph Northwinds), so will be lacing em up then.

New Escalante Racer colorway. Really digging this one but still not a fan of the Nascar esque numbers on them, but I get it I guess. No worse than "SPEED" on the Razor 3. I have the NY version in my sights. Plenty of stock everywhere, so waiting on price drops.

That’s a cool look. Reminds me of Michael Johnson track spikes back in the day.

Dems Saints colors rite dare. Dig it.

My shoes left LAX on Saturday, I suppose they’re in a holding pattern above my house until... Friday?

I’m looking forward to the upper; I already know how the sole preforms. Want that locked in feel that the 6 can’t offer.

They were sent UPS so, you know, prayers needed.

Raw yeah! Had to get these babies off the front doorstep @ 5:30 am when I got home, as they sat there all night apparently.

Talk about light! As far as the upper, I think it’s a good mix between stiff and sock like. I lean more sock like lately, being spoiled with the Flyknit and Escalante. Feels fine though. I had to lock the heels in, but that’s probably because I’m somewhere in between a 9-9.5 in Skechers apparently (these are a 9.5). Feels secure now. Tempo on deck!

Just picked up some Skechers GoRun 6 and got in 5 with them last night.

The good: Fits like a glove. Foot feels locked down. Low drop with cushion. I can feel the energy return. It's got some bounce to it.

The bad: Could feel a blister coming on at the base of my left big toe. Further research is needed.

For less than $50, this shoe seems like a steal. It's light and has some pep to it. As long as the fit doesn't give me blister issues, I can see this being a good shoe for me.

I am prone to getting blisters at base of big toe on both feet, but especially right foot

Am I doing something to cause this?

That’s a variant upper of the one tiger roots, BMR and I are talking about. I think BRM reviewed it a few pages back.

Been beating on the Skechers drum for a bit now.

Good first impression overall. I would prefer a little more cush, but with the lightweight, I can deal with it. The midsole is pretty firm. Perfect tempo/workout shoe, which is what I bought them for. Will be added to the rotation with the Escalante for up tempo work. Satisfied buyer!

I can’t remember if I mentioned the stiff upper. It’s a starchy fly knit but still super light.

They definitely were aiming for it to hug the foot and not give flexibility or cushion.

When really punching it today I could definitely feel immediate response and not much cushion for the pushin. Feet to not feel great on the mid strike... but what you put in, it gives back. Didn’t feel that soggy step that doesn’t quite bounce back at me like NB 1080s or the Ghosts.

Yep! Oh and I love the lacing system also, forgot to mention that.

That's where the Escalante is superior IMO. Perfect mix of both. About an oz heavier though.

Altra Superior 3.5 on sale on the Altra website (~$83), guess they're about to roll out the 4.

It's a "light" cushion shoe that has pretty good trail feel but I've still been able to put a lot of miles on without a huge drop off in rebound over time.

Any reviews on the Asics Dynaflyte 3? I see some on Amazon for $70. Looking for a longer run pavement pounder to rotate with the Brooks Ghost 11. Adidas Solar Boost now out of the rotation.

9 oz, 8 mm drop on the Dyna. I was never a fan of the Asics Gel, so have never owned a pair. These have the FlyteFoam.

Looking at these and the Kinvara 10.

I’m looking very hard at the Zoom Streak 6,7.

It’s got a pebax foam shank (think 4%) in the mid foot but it’s 50 cheaper than the Zoom even. I may have found my 5-10k racer/speed shoe.

Advantage over the ZF FK would be? Zoom foam other than React and 2 oz lighter? Minus the plate?

I was just comparing on price. They would do two different jobs for me. The ZF would be a 15k and up shoe. The streak would be under 15 but would also get my speed work during the week. That just leaves the Razor 2 for grunt work and base miles, which is what I got them for.

one of my running mates runs in the dynaflytes 3 for road and is happy with them. can't give much more info than that though. we usually run trails together so i see him in trail shoes more often.
