Currently direct drive shopping. Is the Zwift Hub One the new standard?

I see the setup and like it, does it come with the remote buttons?

Also, if there are any other similar priced models out there that I should look at, Im all ears.

Broke down and got my wife a new QRoo XPR Di2 Disc and its a damn shame to have it on a wheel-on trainer.

I’ve used a kickr core for the last few years. Probably has 20k miles on it. Still works as intended

I am really interested in that single speed modification they have for the zwift hub. Would make operation a lot simpler and not have to worry about mechanicals when racing. I believe it comes with the buttons but not the steering button setup. Also comes with a year of Zwift as well. I would checkout some GP Lama videos or DCRainmaker for more info.

The Kickr Core is similarly priced. In fact Zwift has the same 1 year subscription deal for the Core.

The Hub One comes with a small gear changing button set. It works well. It doesn’t come with the Zwift Play button set. I haven’t found a compelling reason to get the Play buttons, yet.

My only concern would be the hardware itself considering how new they are. Kickr trainers have been on the market for years and worked out a lot of kinks over that time

The steering gives you an advantage when racing against other people without it.

Understood. The Zwift Hub is basically a JetBlack Volt 2 that’s been rebranded. JetBlack has been around for a while but not as universally adopted as the Wahoo.

Pretty much got cold weather gear this year. I particularly like my Albion jacket though.
Went for a ride yesterday and my water bottle froze. That was a first for me

75 miles in the bank yesterday during a warm winter day on the front range. First outdoor ride of the year and the fitness is really good for this time of year. Excited to see what the rest of the year brings

Nice! Our weather hasn't been too terrible so haven't been stuck on the trainer every single day. First race of the year on 3/23. Fitness isnt where i want it to be but i'm not panicking yet. I've dealt with a little injury and illness over the last month that messed my training up some but heading in the right direction now.

i dont think the saying applies to the trainer... gotta get out there and suffer in the cold.

says the person who rode the trainer for 2 hours this morning cause it was cold

2 - 2.5 hrs is my max on erg mode. I can do a 2+ hr zwift race though. We are getting smoked with snow over these last 2 weeks. Not sure when I will get back outside now.

2hrs is about my limit on the trainer no matter what I'm doing. That being said, if I'm on the trainer it's almost always ERG.

Got in 3hrs earlier during an extended lunch. Chilly but all the sun

Went for 90 minutes on singletrack last night then got up this morning at 5am for spin class. My legs are toast.

The boy went on a weekend trip to Windrock last weekend with another racing friend. Stoked because the other kid's dad owns a bike shop, is a hell of a mechanic, and used to race road extremely competitively. So he understands how to make quick, dirtbag race weekend trips. Hoping my son will be able to tag along with them. We have a hard time in our family not turning race weekends into family vacations which tends to be overly complicated and expensive.

We're still waiting on his new race bike to come from his sponsor, so that's frustrating as first race is next month. He may have to ride his old bike, but it's pretty clapped out at this point.
