Magnesium supplement just before you lay down. 200-400mg back off if a bit if you get "stomach" problems from it. It works great for relaxation.

I recommend everyone stay away from Citrate for relaxation and use Glycinate or, better yet, Threonate.

The dreams on threonate are pretty vivid.

Once i had kids that went out the window

even when the family is gone, once 8am hits no matter how late i stay up. I wake up

I have twins that are 2. They wake up around 8-9 and go to bed around 8. I think it's genetic.

Do you have to piss like a racehorse as soon as you get up? Curious if maybe a full bladder is what is waking you up early. If so, you may want to watch how much water you drink 3-4 hours before you go to bed as well.

I have done this too. I have to force myself to cut back on water late at night or full bladder wakes me up.

re: Tips for sleeping longer?
Obviously not a long term solution, but my sleep gets on waves of good and bad sleep sometimes due to back aches or pains. When I get to periods of bad sleep, I pop an advil PM before bed one night. That usually knocks me out for a good 8 or 9 hours and I wake up really rested. Advil prevents any aches or pains I might have. This also resets my sleep cycle seemingly and I get a restful night of rest for the next week or two.

I didn't sleep much as a toddler
And was always an early bird

These days I'm ok with 4-5 hours of sleep with 1-2 days with 6-7 hours

If you don't have a nightly routine, get one. I take a shower brush my teeth, then lay in bed. My brain knows its time to shut down.

Also, for supper, try cutting the carbs back. That can be a cause too.
