This is one of those things where we're just accepting the fact that whatever they put in these Quest bars, for example, that makes them taste like heaven but have 0g of sugar will def give us some sort of crazy cancer in a couple decades, but we accept it cause we get #gainz now, right?

How do they make these things taste so damn good? It's gotta be some secret synthetic thing that's terrible for us, right?

Why does it have to be bad for us?

Quest uses corn fiber, erythritol, stevia, and list sucralose as the last ingredient... Really not bad at all, don't understand why they can't box the sucralose, but it could be worse.

Idk, it just seems too good to be true.

I eat this thing and barely notice a difference between it and like a Snickers bar so I just don't get why anyone would ever eat candy over this stuff.

Quest bars and all these type of snacks are find and dandy, but they should be eaten sparsely. It’s always better to eat whole foods. If you’re running late and need to get macros in, go for it. But you shouldn’t rely on it. I haven’t had a protein shake in over a week. I do my best to hit my needs via whole foods.

No, I don’t think Quest bars and such are detrimental to our health by themselves.

They’re fine in moderation but I wouldn’t make it a habit to eat one every day. As said, try to get your protein from whole food and only have one if you’re in a pinch

As for cancer, meh. I’d rather be lean while I’m young and deal with it in 50 years than hate life eating super clean all the time. I can’t get away from Diet Coke and Splenda (although I use stevia at home now and it’s fine)

How about we never get cancer?

I watched someone die of brain cancer this year. Believe me. No one wants any part of it.

Agreed.. I'm mostly being facetious and poking fun at everything being cancer-causing according to the news haha

Here's a key question, then:

Is a Snickers bar here and there really bad for you?

There a certainly healthier options, but assuming you eat an otherwise healthful diet... a Snickers bar every now and again isn't messing you up. If eating that Snickers bar now means you don't take down a whole pint of Ben & Jerry's later.. even better.

Should you eat a Snickers bar or a protein bar every day? Probably not.. but even then it's not a big deal as long as you fit it into your caloric intake, otherwise eat a healthful diet, and don't let yourself feel bad about it.

No

The real questing is whether a whole bag of Cadbury mini-eggs is bad for you.

RX bars seem to be as legit as they come.

Ingredients: Dates, egg whites, cashews, almonds, chocolate, cocoa, 'natural flavors', sea salt.
