I tried the mini pizzas. The taste was okay, but they were very soggy. May need to increase the oven temp 5-10 degrees warmer than suggested on the box.

Have you tried the broiler? When I make a pizza on lavish bread I always finish it off with 90 seconds or so under the high setting in the broiler. Comes out like a cracker.

I ate carbs across the board yesterday after going 3 weeks carb free doing keto.

I definitely want to get back into ketosis but I’m straight up craving a donut now.

I don’t use any supplements outside of creatine. All the Keto labeled supps are marketing scams imo. Just eat Whole Foods making sure to hit your macros and you’ll be alright.

Carson don’t buy that overpriced “Keto” pizza garbage. Make your own fathead dough it’s delicious and pretty easy.

Anyone had any issues with kidney stones on Keto? Never had one in my life and have passed two in last 3 weeks since being on Keto since January. Had an ultrasound done yesterday at urologists and I have one more in each kidney.

Its an absolute side effect of the keto diet for some unfortunately. Get your carbs up to 100g a day and 12 hour I/F. You'll still lose weight and mitigate the kidney stone issues.

Quick question as I'm starting keto. I have a water additive that states the following, and only the following under the Carbs section:

Total Carbs: 3
Fiber: 0
Sugar: 0
Added sugars: 0

1.) Does this count as carb free for keto?

2.)Where are those three carbs coming from if not fiber or sugar?

1. No that is not carb free. The only sugar alcohols you should subtract from total carbs is xylitol and erythritol. You also subtract fiber from total to figure out net carbs.

2. Not sure if serious. Carbs don’t only come from sugar and fiber. There’s monosaccharides, disaccharides, polysaccharides, and oligosaccharides.

I'm trying to learn. If this isn't the place for that, I'll move on.

No you’re good. That product is not carb free. I would not use it. There’s zero reason to use it. Use the ketoaid recipe I have in the OP. If you don’t like the taste use the Mio that’s sweetened with Stevia to improve its flavor.

Thanks. I thought the focus was on "Sugars" and not total carbs. That helps.

You should eat <20g of Net carbs a day.

Take total carbs and subtract sugar alocohol (xylitol and erythritol only) and subtract fiber to get net carbs.

Thanks. If I break that 20g threshold one specific day per week, say I eat 40g that day, does that invalidate everything I did the previous week or break the next week from a dietary perspective?

If it throws you out of ketosis then yes. The reason I say <20g of net carbs is because that guarantees 99.9% you will be in ketosis.

If you get kicked out then you have to start all over with the Keto flu, etc

Ok, what about this bread. How many net carbs is this per slice?

7 or 3?

Take the total carb count minus the fiber.they just broke down the sources of fiber, but just focus on the category dietary fiber.

In this instance: 11g (total carbohydrates) - 4g (dietary fiber) = 7g of net carbs.

ETA: if you are serious about Keto you should not eat that bread. Just cut out all these simple carb sources out of your diet. It seems like a PITA now but in the long run it will pay dividends.

I'm sure you've covered this already, but I don't feel like reading the entire thread.

I don't pay too much attention to macros and what not, I just keep my carb intake under 25/day, but my question is about exercise:

I work out 6 days (sometimes 7) every week. Cardio every day

I strength train 2-3 times per week, on those days, my cardio burns 350-500 calories.

On cardio only days, I burn 600-750 calories.

Should I increase my carb intake?

Thanks. My wife has no interest in doing any of this so I'm just trying to get her to start considering carbs when she shops and dinner plans. For instance we occasionally do an easy summer time dinner called cheese dreams. It's a single slice of bread with a slice of cheese, slices of tomato, and slices of bacon on top cooked in the oven until all toasted up eaten open face. Things like this bread are going to be what keeps me still involved in family meals without just going off to eat a lettuce wrapped stick of butter with back in the corner.

If I can save at least 15 grams of carbs allocated For dinner, I think I can make it work. It's been one week today, and I've lost 6 pounds already. I don't think I can make keto work long term, but if it can help me get to a healthy state I can then start to slowly reintroduce carbs to see what my body will accept without gaining weight back. Hopefully by then I have my family at least changed over to a lower carb lifestyle.

To get the full effect you SHOULD monitor your macros for the sole reason of not eating too much protein. If you are eating too much protein you will not be in ketosis.

No. Until you’ve been doing strict Keto for 6 months or longer I do not recommend TKD or CKD.
