Talk me into (or out of) a Concept 2 rower

I work out at home. I don't get much cardio except what I get incidentally from my weight workouts (I work out pretty intensely, so my heart rate does get elevated and stay elevated). Still, I feel like I ought to be doing more.
Running and cycling don't appeal to me. I have been intrigued by rowing for a while. I think I could stick with it, and it seems like it would be complementary to my weight training and not antagonistic to it like distance running. OTOH the damn things are pricey and I may buy one and find out it's not for me.
Looking for any guidance or suggestions

I like the 500 meter interval workouts with 1 minutes rest bt each set
You can train so many more body parts and build a good aerobic base and an anaerobic base with the workout options. It also seems to be very portable and doesn't take up s huge amount of room

I want one for my garage. I hate running with a passion and the tower would be a great cardio tool for me.

Best fitness investment I’ve made. Literally 2 screws and it’s ready to go. Like someone stated earlier, the 500 m sprints with one minute rest are what I like to do. If you push yourself, this thing will kick your arse in probably 30 minutes or less.

I have one and an air bike. I prefer the air bike but still love my rower as it is much more versatile. Hiit or less, doesn't matter rower is top 3 piece of cardio equipment no matter the workout or goal. It's also low impact which is great.
Btw I am in your position and I don't get a ton of cardio either. I have add a lot in the form of circuits, prolwer/sled pushes/pulls, burpees and heavy bag stuff along with strongman type stuff. I say all that because even though I have a ton of variety to choose from if I am feeling beat up at all I go to the rower and airdyne. They are great for working out soreness if you take it light and can help with recovery.
They are expensive, but not compared to other commercial quality equipment. If you don't like it, you are only out two hundred bucks or so as they hold their value like crazy.
I have used the c2 a ton but currently own a xebex. It was cheaper and is heavier duty than the c2. Might want to give it a look, only thing is the screen is not nearly as good as a c2. I have version 1 so maybe the screen has gotten better as I know they changed it..
Btw this is the H&F board, nobody here is going to try and stop you from buying a quality piece of equipment. Bowflex, yea I'm gonna try and stop you, but a C2, hell to the know, gonna encourage it.

Do it.
I started rowing about two months ago and love it. I have had two knee surgeries, so high impact cardio is out for me. No running, climbing, and even long bike cycles start to hurt. I have zero pain and can get a great post workout sweat in only 10 minutes on the rower.
The other thing I like about the rower at the gym (Concept 2), is that I can challenge myself in different ways. If I am sore and don’t have the upper body strength to keep a 2:15 split, I can lower the resistance and keep my rows at 35 rpm. Conversely, if I am feeling good, crank the resistance and see what my total distance is after 10 minutes and try to beat the previous record.
Finally, one negative. If you are prone to hemorrhoids, this will probably cause them. I do not get them from any other activity or exercise. However, after a solid two weeks straight, they show signs. Take a few days off, usually a long weekend, and all good though. I contribute it to small seat and whole body workout.

I have one in our garage and love it. I didn’t go all out with the concept brand. Just paid $200.
