Strongest man in history?

Who do you have? This isn't the OT, so I won't pick myself.
For my money, it's Bill Kazmaier. Dominated WSM so much in the 70's and 80's they wouldn't let him compete. Take a look at this video. He was a strongman, not a powerlifter and his squat/bench/dead total was 2,281 raw. He also had at least 50 pounds in the tank on squat and dead.
To put that in perspective, that's about 100 LB off the record Kirill Sarychev set in 2016. Again, by a guy who wasn't even a powerlifter.
So, who do you pick?
Kaz

Kaz is weak comparatively in today’s field. Shaw, Hafthor, and Licis are all much much stronger than him at his peak. Additionally the absolute strongest right now is Mateusz Kieliszkowski. He is so effortless and young he will be the all time winningest WSM I’ll put money on it.

Years ago I hung out with a powerlifter from here in AZ named Tim Isaac, I believe he was the first man to benchpress 800 lbs. Not sure what happened to the guy.
I have a couple good Bill Kazmaier stories. Back in college I worked in a health club owned by a good friend of mine. One day Kazmaier (a Wisconsin native) and his wife walk in and ask to speak to the owner. My buddy is in the lockerroom taking a shite so we walk down to the lockerroom and I tell my buddy Bill Kazmaier wants to speak with him. My buddy responds "Who the frick is Bill Kazmaier?" Kazmaier responds "only the World's Strongest Man". Buddy comes out of the stall and his jaw drops when he sees the size of the guy.
Same year, I played on a slow-pitch softball team with a bunch of locals. We are in a dive bar after a game and Kazmaier walks in looking for one of the guys on the team, apparently they were HS rivals of some sort and there was always some bad blood between them. They take it out in the parking lot and square off and Kazmaier has at least 100 lbs on the guy. After scuffling for a bit Kazmaier slams my buddy- a Wisconsin pig farmer nicknamed "Headbutt"- off the hood of a car and messes up by buddy's shoulder. My friend gets up and with one punch dislocates or breaks Kazmaier's jaw. That was the end of the fight.

Those are cool stories about Kazmaier.
For OWS's statement, Thor, Shaw, etc. might be stronger, but there have been a lot of advances in training, nutrition and drugs in the last 40 years.
Thor did a powerlifting meet and totaled about 200 more pounds than Kaz did in the video I liked. Sure, that's more weight, but comparatively to the time period, for Kaz to be within 200 pounds is a big deal.
Also, Kaz was only about 330. Thor totaled in the low 2,400's vs Kaz in the low 2,200's, but weighed 100-120 LB more. Pound for pound, Kaz is stronger, even without an era adjustment.

I’ll put in for Kaz, as well if we’re not talking about relative strength (e.g. Lamar Gant’s deadlift). Maybe Doug Young, he was a frigging mastodon if a man.
On a similar note, I remember back on Stan Lee’s “real life super hero” shows, there’s some dude who rips decks of playing cards and phone books in half likes they’re tissue paper. Apparently his body has/uses more muscle fiber recruitment than the average human by quite a lot. There was another guy whose body doesn’t build lactic acid, which allows him to run forever and never get tired.

Kazmaier also is a strong contender for GOAT traps.
Dunno, nobody's separated himself from peers like Kaz, IMO. Shaw, Thor, Z, Mariusz and Hall had each other. Kaz just blew away the field.
