With all the "accountability", get ready for injuries that no one ever talks about.

My biggest problem with crossfit is they charge you entirely too much money and say that heir “Specialist” or “trainer” will evaluate you and give you workouts.

...it literally takes one hour and a couple of dollars to get certified to teach crossfit. Some are good, but most are very uneducated about basic human movement.

Been going 6 months now after many years of no real exercise. One of the best decisions I've ever made. Pretty much every assumption I made and every joke I heard was wrong. Is it perfect? No. Do I like every aspect of it? No. Otoh, I have demonstrated no ability to engage in this level of activity on my own. I went from being 50going on 60 to 50going on 40.

My professor in college said it best.

“I don’t like Cross-fit, but if it gets people off the couch, it’s working”.

Today’s workout was ok....

70 cal row
50 HSPUs
30 Turkish alternating Turkish getups at 50lbs

Everything was easy until 10 reps into the get-ups.

Well.. Almost.

A whole weekend
Written testing to demonstrate you know what you’re talking about
$1000

Compare that to someone with a CSCS certification and get back with me. CSCS prerequisites require a Bachelors in Exercise Science.

Crossfit certification requires you be above the age of 17... lol

About to say, this shite went out the window quick and brought in the much tougher rules once Johnny pain left and wrote the open letter about everything.

Bunch of fricking idiots in here who think doing a "circuit" on machines twice a week is working out and that a barbell will hurt your back and only for young guys.

I'm sure there are poor ones out there. We don't have any of those.

I’m not bashing them all, some are very, very good. I personally have never done crossfit. I would like to give it a shot but I workout extremely early before work and it never lines up with any of the sessions.

I think ours has a 5:30 a.m., but I have never done a morning class other than the Saturday partner one.

And how many personal trainers have a CSCS?

How about how many “personal trainers” have nothing at all behind their name or have taken an online test to get those letters? At least to get CF lv 1 you have to go attend a weekend class, fork over a grand and pay a pretty damn difficult test.

I would never ever ever take advice from a personal trainer without a cscs lol. Most personal trainers I’ve seen at small gyms have no clue what they are talking about.

CPT Test is expensive too, though.

My point is, you cannot learn much in a weekend course...

What are you saying wow for? Anyone can get that certification. It does nothing to show you have knowledge about what you are teaching.
