How long have you been on this program and what kind of results?

Not very long and my numbers are not impressive since I never lifted heavy before and my right knee is really messed up. But I've done a ton of research on the subject.

There are a lot of people who have had success with Starting Strength 5x5 (and other variations of 5x5 like Ice Cream Fitness) which has squatting 3 times a week but each person has to figure out what combination of reps, weight, and frequency works best them.

All programs work through progressive overload (increasing volume through weight, reps, or frequency).

You might find that by lifting a little lighter but going twice a week leads to much more overall volume and more gains but the only way to know what works for you is to try it.

I wear sleeves on both knees already. Left knee flared up about 3 weeks ago for some reason and I’ve had to modify some of the things I’ve been doing.

I do box squats because I don't trust my knee to not collapse (yet).

I have to be very conscious of how I have my feet angled and making sure my knee tracks the same angle. I haven't started using sleeves yet but I probably will at some point.

What sleeves? You need some 7mm neoprene.

I don’t really have knee issues, but I still wear sleeves. They’re good for keeping your knees warm. I wear a pair of cheap $25 Nordic lifting sleeves and they work just fine.

Actually have them on now. Think it’s McDavid or mueller. Has the gel stay for the knee cap and thin stabilizers on the side. Wear them for legs as they’re a little more substantial than a think sleeve. I have an incrediwear sleeve that I wear for running and hiit workouts that’s not as beefy. They freaking work for sure. Actually hurt my knee when I wasn’t wearing a sleeve and it was subtle that just kept getting gradually more irritating.

Those Mueller's are definitely not what I'm thinking.

I'm thinking like LINK

The SBDs and Strongs Rep and I are talking about can stand on their own and not flop over.

Ahhh. I’ve tried some like that and they slide down. Skinny calves I guess. The ones I use for squats are mc David. They tend to stay put but can get uncomfortable after a while. Appreciate the input though, you seem to know your shite. I might give the ones in the link a shot.

Make sure to look at the measuring guide

They should not fall down as they are usually fairly tight and somewhat hard to get on
