Gotcha. I was thinking like a 10-15 mile run. I usually don’t pass by my house or anything during runs that would give me that chance.

I have used a variety of different uses, lately I have been running in the pure boost and I can tell you the ball of my foot does not like them as much as the brooks launches I ran in previously. Make sure you get fitted and they work for you

have a marathon in two weeks and have used 2 pairs of brooks launch 4's through the training. good shoe. can't really go wrong with brooks imo. as others have said go to a running specialty store if there is one in your area and have them fit you.

update. i just ran my first half this weekend.

2:08 finish which i wasn't thrilled with but the course was a gigantic hill infested shitfest.

i ran in my ghosts and was underwhelmed. some serious rubbing about mile 10. now i love my ghosts and will run midrange in them again, but i don't think i want to take them on anything over 10 miles.

so i'm debating Altra vs. Hoka for my next ones. is there a strong sentiment between the two? and i live in BFE and there are no running shops around me, before that's a response.

More of an Altra fan because of the wide toe base.
have some Hokas on now while at work.

Do they allow 30 days (or some time) for running to try?? I tried some Brooks Glycerines on at the local running store but just wasn't sure and had already returned 1 pair for credit so I didn't buy them. Their policy is 30 days to return.

Brooks online is ** 90 ** days ... I was impressed with that so I ordered them. We'll see what happens.

Yes but you can’t get your money back on used shoes. Just can exchange them.

If you have not run in Altra or Hoka before, don't assume you can just switch and run similar mileage. It's a lot rougher on your calves and Achilles due to much lower drop than a shoe like Brooks Ghost. You have to ease into it. I ended up injured. I'll never run in them again for anything more than a 10k (Altras).

Thing is, I REALLY like running in them more. I did a few short runs recently after spending 5 months training for a half marathon run in Ghosts. It's a much better feeling shoe. It's just something that I'll no longer try to build a lot of mileage on due to personal experience.

Nope ... Brooksrunning.com is a REFUND ... you can exchange if you'd like BUT refund is specifically what I asked about.

To each their own, but... Hoka One One shoes are incredible for distance running. I have over 500 miles on my Clifton 2s, and just put my first 50 on my Clifton 4s.

I currently run in Altras. I tried a pair of Hoka s at a store, but the size I needed was out. Nonetheless they seemed like 2 different type shoes. The Altras I feel like I am falling backwards when I first put them on, and the Hoka seemed to make me fall forward.

I still want to try a Hoka, though

How do you like the Clifton 4s?? My local store didn't have any in stock in my size and offered to order but I just wasn't sure.

I have the Clifton 3’s. I don’t run in them bc I find they cause me to have issues the next day. I use them at work and they are super comfy!

I actually was in a big town with a run shop for work this week and went and got fitted for cushioned shoes. I tried Hokas and just couldn’t do them. I get you have to get used to them but no thanks. That heel drop was too weird a feeling.

After trying about 8 shoes I ended up getting NB 1080v7s. I was kinda surprised but they had a wide toe box and amazing cushion. Haven’t got a run in them yet.

Still love my ghosts, just need a bit more TLC.

Love them. Feels like they ride maybe a touch higher than the 2s, and the cushion on the tongue is better. Just ran a marathon in them last weekend and my feet were the only things not hurting on Sunday.
