Any recommendations for prevention, resolution? Is it normal for your body to start falling apart in your mid-fifties. I feel like Job the last couple of months.

About 6 weeks ago I went from never having acid reflux to all of the sudden I'll get heartburn/ acid reflux that lasts for days at a time. Doctor has me on 40 mg of Omeprazole, it helped a lot but I have still had a few bad days over the past 2 weeks. I've also cut out caffeine and have reduced my alcohol intake.

For me as weird as it sounds, eating 2+ eggs a day reduced my acid reflux tremendously

Nexium is fantastic but not meant for daily use. Now I can’t live without it.

Look at Dexilant. I was on that for years and never suffered from reflux. Then my insurance said, "take this cheaper pill instead."

I get some reflux now, but it's manageable. The Dexilant has a slow and long release so it takes care of you all day.

Dexilant is the only thing that’s ever worked for me. My G.I wrote me a 3 month script and have me a Canadian pharmacy to order it from. Around $200 for 3 months, but worth it.

A non pharmacology way would be to lift the head of your bed up a touch so you sleep on a bit of an incline.

Medication wise, a daily Pepcid or nexium will do the trick
