Glad I finally looked into this "PPSA" thing y'all keep posting about on here. After 30+ years of lifting, I feel rejuvenated in the gym and I'm challenging myself more than usual by having more goals to accomplish on a daily basis.

this is why so many of us like ppsa. so many plans to choose from and each one only last a month, so its constant variety but still getting basic strength training in consistently.

im moving to the defranco program for next 12 weeks to give my body a break. im pretty beat up.

this week is testing week. I will be posting in the daily strength thread instead of in the ppsa threads.

Ill be keeping up with how yall are doing though and what yall like

not gonna lie, really glad strongville is over. The last 2 weeks have been a real drag on me as i have cut calories and felt more and more beat up. as life in the spring gets busier, i am looking forward to much shorter workouts.

W1D2 DB Strength done.

70 minutes. Overhead carries showed up but only for 25 yards so I went up to 40s. Felt good. I liked day 1 better but still got a good workout. I was a little sore from yesterday. Mainly heavy RDLs.

I will more than likely never go back to my old workouts. I like walking in and knowing what I need to get done in the gym.

These workouts are awesome. I haven't %'s like this since high school.

I agree Jose. Wide variety of programs, easy to understand and you can actually run most back to back to get more progression.

W1d1 of superset done. Cool to get all the big ones done, it all felt pretty light but it's just the 1st day. Still took me 90 minutes but I was super distracted and had to change from dl to squat to bp which sucked time too.

So what to do with an open 4th day if I find one? HIIT sprints or rows perhaps + core? Main objective is to drop body fat %

Does anyone have timing on the Hypertrophy workouts? 1-1.5 hrs?

W1D1 took me a little over an hour
W1D2 took me about 50 minutes

I'd like some advice on which order to run the PPSA programs that I already have. I'm 6', 214 lbs, and trying to lose weight. I currently have Silverback, Arm Farm, Filling Out The Hoodie, and Strongville. I eventually want to do Filling Out The Hoodie 2, but I don't feel ready for 5 days per week. Thanks for the help.

I've never done arm farm, but I don't think I would like Silverback and Strongville back to back. I would probably do Silverback, Filling out the Hoodie, Strongville, then Arm Farm.

Stupid question. But can you switch hands? Or do you have to hold just one hand?

just get it done, doesnt matter. if you are only using 1 kb i would suggest switching.

I went for it today. I read you are supposed to use a 25kg kb but I only had 20 so I decided to go for the full mile instead of the half I had planned.

Ha, I'm an idiot. Switched hands every minute and still only went the half mile. I did it on a treadmill if that makes any difference. I'm gonna try it again next week and go a little further. I had another minute or 2 in me but I bitched out at the end.

it doesnt, its just a bitch

expect to be pretty sore tomorrow

outside of strongman stuff like sandbags, sleds, etc and sprints

kettlebell mile and 1/4 mile lunges/reverse lunges are my preferred conditioning exercises for normal guy.

Thanks for the reply. I agree. I did the first week of Strongville and the higher % and reps were tough.
