I’ve been reading about this. Some in favor. Some say absolutely not. I’m not saying do this every week. But one week out of the month do this. Those in favor say it’s good to shock the muscles to get out of a plateau. I can see the negative affects too though.

I know people say give your muscles 24-48 hours rest as the norm.
But I look back when I used to work offshore. That was the most jacked I’ve ever been and nothing on my body got a day off… ever.

It depends on the volume per training session. If you do 4 sets of chest on Monday, another three or four on Tuesday would be fine. Especially if you’re doing different exercises for that same muscle group.

Are you lifting to failure? Are you lifting for strength or hypertrophy? Lots of variables here.

I've been mostly doing 30 minute superset type dumbbell workouts for my resistance training. I run the video classes on my Peloton, hitting legs once a week and upper body 2-3 times a week. There are plenty of chest/back workouts, where you'll do DB chest press, flies, different variations of rows etc. Then I'll hit an arm workout the next day, and there might be some pushups or a neutral grip chest press in there. I just play it by how I feel. If it is 3-4 sets of a chest exercise and that's the only one, I don't mind doing the same muscle group two days in a row. I wouldn't do the same workout, but if it is just hitting from a different angle, no problem with it every few weeks.

Just really depends if you're giving your body what it needs to recover in the time between sessions, All I want for Christmas is a big bench had me doing bench every day. Got some great growth out of that program but I trust everything that man puts into a workout program.
