W1D2 of Big 70s

Holy Squatman. 75 moderate to heavy squats ranging from 50% to 80%. I can’t imagine squatober. It took me about 40 minutes just to complete the squats. I’ll probably not be able to walk tomorrow and Friday!

Big Bench for Xmas W2D4

Bench felt really good

I added a couple warmup squats beforehand which made this much better

I don’t know why but I feel like an absolute arse taking a bench in front of the mirror to do my curls but they went very well today

Not sure if it is the pump but my Cowboys long sleeve shirt is now skin tight in the chest and on my arms. It’s an XL and it’s never felt this snug meanwhile there is plenty of room in the trunk area for all of the thanksgiving food.

All the old programs are live if you want to grab any. The og arm farm and silverback were really good

Yes, on the PPSA site. They're $20.

Picked up a couple:
How much ya bench
OG Arm Farm
OG Brickhouse

Honestly really like the look of these older programs, arm farm in particular looks awesome. I think the og looks better than the remastered, but maybe that’s just me.

Excited to run through them.

Have you run BF2? Curious how it compares to how much you bench.

Christmas Big Bench
W4D3

Knocked this one out yesterday. Week is going well. Bench was nice and heavy today. Penlay rows definitely help with explosiveness (and there were LOTS of them). The Soulsuckers (CG Bench 21s) suck in a good way. I finished the last set at 54% of bench TM. Push ups and shrugs were nothing special. The 90/90 DB wrist rotations definitely do a number on my elbows. My elbows are ready for this program to end for sure.

I’m actually running BF2 right now, will be doing day 9 tomorrow so relatively early in but have done more or less every style of day he has in the program.

Without giving too much away, I think the way he approaches the bench in each is very different. How much ya bench feels more old school to me, more volume given to accessories and variations rather than just benching. You don’t do straight bench work every day, but you will hit the muscles used in the bench every day.

I would check out the sample workouts posted for how much ya bench. It gives a pretty good idea of what the days are like. I think it looks like it would be a great program to grow your upper body, maybe even more so than BF2, but might not target the barbell quite as hard.

Christmas Big Bench
W4D4

Week 4 Day 4 done... only 1 day left. My elbows are ready for a break after this one.

Today's bench wasn't bad at all. Squats got a little heavy towards the end (4th set was 8@70%). Pull-ups are still rough as are heavy, low rep OHP sets. The heavy rep DB curls and high rep hammer curls were torture at the end.

OG hypertrophy looks awesome too, might grab that. Sample workouts look more fun than the new one to me.

I have all the old ones, I think of arm farm is better and I love the new one. Lots of the og programs are better.

Even if he takes them down, I’m sure he will let yall buy them if you message him

Og silverback
Og hypertrophy
Og arm farm
Og turnt up

Are as good or better than remastered

I like og how much you bench, pump city

Og oak tree is heavy and shorter

Og meat wagon is really good for driving deads and squats

I like all the old programs truthfully, some more than the remastered ones

Christmas Big Bench
W4D5

This one is DONE! This one was a long workout at 31 sets with warm-up (2nd longest in the plan behind W3D5; 35 sets). I had to cut rests down a touch on the cardio portion to try and save a bit of time. Since today was the last day of the plan, I pushed myself where I could. Failed the last set of skullcrushers at 23/25 and dropped the bumper plates twice (once before the prescribed time and once before my planned time).

Overall the plan as written is decent. I definitely feel like I've made some progress and learned new things. The grip circuit (while torture) is something I really like I may add to future plans.

My complaints with the plan are lack of leg work and the soreness in my elbow. I know the plan is bench focused, but I need more than 8 sets of squats a week.

I really enjoyed it after I stretched it out and added 3 legs days a week (completing the last one tomorrow Thick Thigh Thursday).

Anxious to see where my bench is Thursday when I test.

Maybe a dumb question but does

DB Bulgarian Split Squat = DB RFESS? I see him reference both of them but I always thought it was the same exercise.

Same thing in my book. Others may disagree though.
