I hope you are right, El ninõ should "technically" keep temperatures down during the summer, but who knows anymore

I think my Garmin just thinks I'm super out of shape now

Grew up in this area. You need to run up Patton Chapel to Shades Crest. Did that one night.......

7.5 tonight with 10 x 1 min hill sprints. Beer and pizza afterwards. Good times. Good times.

Sounds like a great evening
First 20er of the cycle on tap tomorrow. Tired of running loops/out and backs so going to drive out and run a point to point in the morning.

Easy 4 miles tonight with the dog. She’s part border collie and is a machine. Not sure what the distance is tomorrow, but it will be at lactate threshold.

Yea I don’t think my shih tzu would survive that

I used to run as far as 8 miles with my beagle-terrier mutt. He could go at 7 min pace for 4-5 miles. About the only thing I trained him well at. Now he's 17 and a ten minute walk suits him just fine.

You're a rat bastard, you know that?

Yup, that sounds about right
Meanwhile I'm over here happy about my 16 miles at 8:30 pace.
(I did have 600ft more of elevation gain than you though, that has to account for something right; RIGHT?!?!)

His phone just kept up with him for 20 miles, it's tired... and sad.

Guess I won’t post my 10 mile run at lactate. 6:30 miles are sexier than 12:30 miles.

It’s an adjustment man
although ours just hit six weeks and she’s starting to smile when she sees us so that’s fun.

How soon after she was born did you get back into a rhythm? Our first is due in a couple of weeks and it's kind of panic inducing to think about maintaining some fitness with a busted sleep schedule. I managed it in college but those days are way behind me

So she was born late Thursday night and my first run after that was the next Tuesday. Ran 3 times that week I think then was back full go the next week. I just gave myself grace to get in what I could that first week. Thankfully my wife is super and is understanding with my running. As long as I’m helping out when I’m home she’s fine with the hour or so it takes for me to get my runs in.

It also helps that you are a running coach, so it's a little easier for her to understand, "yeah of course he's going for a run, he's not going to ask his students to do something he's not going to do himself"

I wasn't running when my 1st was born and the 2nd one was born with a heart condition. 2nd born children are already different and especially if they literally require open heart surgery at 5 months but:
I was sporadically running by 1 month, and fully training again 3 weeks after her open heart surgery.
You kinda get used to the new norm, if I had been running with my first I probably would have been close to full training again within a month. Had my 2nd not needed OHS, it would have probably been within 2
