4%s.
Man I've been coming VERY close to pulling the trigger on a pair. As a reward for working my balls off so far this year. I need some running retail therapy. Only thing stopping me is I only have the CCC until the fall so I'll really only wear them once till fall race season. Figure I can wait till the fall and surely something new (5%?

Nice! Due to the aforementioned ball bustin' working I'm at $50K YTD as of today. No work/life/running balance to be had. The money is nice but no way I want to keep this pace up for 3 more quarters.

not to humble brag, but i'm north of there there currently and my wife would still kill me if i even thought about 4%s. Every pair of shoes i have cost less than $50 except my brooks and NBs.
that being said i have kids, braces, private school, mortgage, wife's feet medical bills, and car payments. Burt is rolling the DINK lifestyle

I love my 4%s for races. Been training in the Zoom Fly Flyknits (which are much more reasonably priced). Figured will extend the life on my 4%s quite a bit......I also keep a hidden shoe/gym "fund" my wife doesn't know about

My wife and I are only in the 60-70 range. Why don’t you buy me some 4%s moneybags?

Lol I was hesitant to say anything. No kids too.
We only just finished paying off student loans a couple months ago.

I didn't say how big my "fund" is...You need ALOT more shoes than that to pass me up.
I have probably 50 or so shoes in my closet that I wear when needed (running, dress, suits, casual, walk arounds, labor)
Running I currently rotate through:
Zoom Fly Flyknits for usual training
Zoom Fly SPs for short quick training
Vapor 4% for racing
Brooks Launch for easy miles
Altra Escalante for short easy miles
Altra Superior for trail
Walk around/pre-post race
Ultra Boosts
Pure Boosts
Nike Free Flyknits

i got married in college just to be able to pay FOR college. then my wife (older than me and graduated in 3.5 years) got pregnant with 20+ hours to go for me so i busted arse to graduate and get a job. 6 years and a lot of starving, sleeping in my car the first 2 years, but graduated debt free. she's been a stay at home mom for 13 years, so we never had DINK status. she's going to work part time in the fall hopefully. to support my shoe habit.

Yea, she knows about all the shoes. Just doesn't know where they come from or where the money came out of for them
I actually built a gym at my house last year and she kept asking what account the money was coming out of..she showed up at home one day to a pallet of plates and a squat rack

Just picked up my third pair. All of the "old" colors are on sale right now after they came out with 3 new ones. The black and neon green are $100, freaking steal.

Just bought a new pair myself. Right at $100 with free shipping.
It doesn’t matter how much we make. We’ve got 2 girls, so it’s not enough. I can always justify running shoes though. Thinking I will finally take the plunge and buy some 4% (or maybe 5%, if available) before Chicago marathon later this year.
Shoe situation is currently in good shape. Most shoes have a specific purpose with miles left to burn. May look to add another pair before too long - Reebok Float Ride Run Fast? Current lineup:
Nike ZF Flyknit
Nike ZF
Nike Peg Turbo
Newton Gravity VI
Newton Gravity VII
NB Beacon
NB 1080

Y’all 4% Baws who run in ZF FK’s also - would I need to size up 1/2 size in the 4%? I thought I remember discussing the heel and that sizing up may be best.

I’ve got 13 year old and a 9 year old boys. They won’t stop eating. Ever.
We spend an extra $150 on food from this time last year.

I have a 12 in the 4% and 11.5 in the ZF FK
Posted on 3/28/19 at 7:55 pm to hogbody
That’s what I’m thinking. I’m 10 in ZF FK, so will probably go 10.5 in 4%. The ZF are kinda snug anyway.

Yeah, no kids is huge for us. I didn’t network in college, has cost me thousands down the road I’ve realized.
5 easy this morning. Time to shake out the jitters.
