I agree with you on all of this. Whenever Glassman had the falling out, I think a lot was exposed that many regulars didn’t know about.

I lift weights in a push/pull/legs format hittting most muscle groups twice a week. I still incorporate CrossFit aspects with cardio. Lots of rowing/assault bike/kb swing/box jump combinations.

I'll be honest, I don't know anything about the business side of Crossfit. It's just a workout program I've been doing for a while - it's the only program I've found that I enjoy and am consistent with. I don't claim it's perfect or for everyone, it's just what works for me.

25.2 coming out this afternoon!

Very well put. Fully agree on all counts. After doing it for about a year and three months now, I can't even imagine not doing CrossFit. I love that the programming is already done and I just have to show my arse up to class and we all suffer together doing the WOD's.

I can't argue the results that I've attained since joining. I really enjoy everything about it. I wished I were better at the technical lifts and the rig, but I'm getting better.

25.2:

REPEAT OF 22.3

21 pull-ups
42 double-unders
21 thrusters (95/65)
18 chest-to-bar pull-ups
36 double-unders
18 thrusters (115/75)
15 bar muscle-ups
30 double-unders
15 thrusters (135/85)

Time cap: 12 minutes

I really dislike thrusters with a passion, but I like all the other movements. I didn't do the open in 2022 so looking forward to pushing myself on this one. I'm not proficient at MUs so I am guessing that's where I'll get stuck.

This workout sucks a johnson rod. This is only my second Open, so I don't know why they put so much advanced stuff in there.

They’ve actually scaled back the movements in more recent years to make the workouts more accessible. But they usually throw a movement or two in that’s slightly more advanced every year. This week it’s MUs

Well that sucked more than I was expecting, but I also finished right around where I thought I would.

I was able to get 5 MUs for a score of 161. I’m not thrilled by it, but I’m not upset about it either. I could retest every day this weekend and I know I wouldn’t get past the 15 MUs.

Well, I did strict pull ups and strict CTB. I got no repped on six because my arms weren't straight as a fricking "l" while at rest. My dubs are also fricky. I'll do five s/u's for every one dub. I've got to work on my kipping rhythm and my dubs. It severely hinders me and slows me down. Problem is, I rely too much on my strength and kinda just say "frick it" on the stuff I'm not great it, hence why I do strict stuff on the rig.

I've been doing CF for a year and three months now....it's time to start working on some of my weaknesses and improving some more.

I got a 102. Shitty score, but I knew this wasn't gonna be a good one for me. Give me something with dead lifts and HSPU's and I'll go ape shite on my score and no one can keep up with me. Give me rig stuff, and I'm slow as shite

This is one of the points of doing the open. It forces you to do some things that maybe you’re not great at and reevaluate where you need to make improvement. I do the same thing - it’s easy to avoid the things you suck at (thrusters for me) but you can’t in the open. Makes me want to try and work on thrusters moving forward.

Disappointed in my score. 158 gonna retest this afternoon if I can find time. Had a plan but came out way too hot and the wheels came off quick. didn't respect those thrusters like I should have and only got to the rig was 30 seconds left to do muscle ups lol.

You and me both. I spent way too much time on the thrusters at 115#. Part of me wants to retest as well, but don't know if I'll have time before 5pm. Good luck!

I keep hearing that 25.3 will be some sort of row, deadlift, and wall walks. Bring that the hell on, if that's the case.

Did ok. Finished 19 cals on the final row. A little disappointed - I really think if I pushed harder I had a shot to finish. May retest.

Liked this one. WW are one of the movements I’m good at. Finished in 19:22. Will do my age group (55+) workout tomorrow.

Planning on doing it tomorrow and possibly retesting Monday. I'm not going at a break neck pace on the row, although I'm good at getting my cals on it. I intend to make up time on deads, cleans, and snatches. I should fly through the deads really quickly.

Congrats on finishing! I’m retesting on Monday in the hopes of finishing. I was close, so I think I have a shot at it.

Thanks. Smooth on first row. 10/8/7 on DLs. Those are sneaky. Bite off too much and it’ll blow you up and you won’t be able to get your HR back down. All singles on cleans and snatches. Last row I really had to push the last 25 cals

Any of y'all remember how long it took to get your 50 cal on the rows?
