I had a couple pair of NoBull trainers when they first came out. They wore out quick. Both pairs. I went back to Nike Metcons. Those are indestructible.

The ghost is probably my favorite cross trainer even though it’s marketed as a running shoe

They're expensive.

I'm a huge fan of Nike Metcons. Been wearing them for close to 10 years, metcon and metcon free is all I wear every day. Lifting and as a coach. I wear the frees if its a light upper body, or cardio day. Heavy days, leg days, or implement training days- regular metcons.

On game days I wear Nike Free 5.0. I like how the feel on the grass and turf.

I have been using no bull for at 10 years now. The original trainers. They are a bit rigid out the box but break in for me nicely. They are definitely not intended for running although no bull makes running shoes now too. The trainers tend to last me at least a year and that’s doing 5-6 workouts a week usually. I’m a pretty light frame though and I think some bulkier people tend to rip them up pretty quickly. Some people swear by metcons, but I could never get comfortable in them. No bull has gotten expensive though so I usually get a gift card for Xmas or birthday.

Current closet

1 pair NOBULLs
4 pairs Reebok Sprint TRs v1
1 pair Reebok Sprint TR v2
1 pair Reebok Speed TR
4 pairs of various Nano versions
1 pair StrikeMVMT
2 pairs TYR CR-1
4 pairs TYR runners (various versions)
1 pair Nike Zoom Speed TR
1 pair Born Primitive Trainers
1 pair While on Earth
1 pair RAD-1

A handful of them came free from CrossFit comps where I competed.

Some are 10 years old but I rotate though using them all the time and some still look new.

I like the Nike Zoom Speed TRs over the Metcons but they stopped making them a while back.

Of all these brands, there is only one that I would not buy another pair: the NOBULL.

And I just picked up 2 more pairs of Nike Zoom Speed TRs..

I have a pair of the trainers and another model I can't remember the name of. The bottom of the shoe is very firm, but that's actually what I enjoy about them. I am primarily using them when doing barbell lifts: squats, deads, OHPs, etc. They are pricey, but with my limited use case and me not wearing them elsewise, they should last me 10+ years.
